Location and Accessibility
Riverbend Campground is ideally situated at 158 county road, Slater, CO 81653, USA. This location places it in a beautiful, somewhat remote, yet accessible area of Colorado, offering a genuine mountain and river experience. Slater is a small, unincorporated community located in Jackson County, in the northern part of Colorado, near the Wyoming border.
Accessibility to Riverbend Campground is generally straightforward via well-maintained county roads. While "158 county road" might sound rural, it typically implies a navigable path for most vehicles, including RVs and campers. Visitors would likely approach Slater via State Highway 125, which connects to larger highways in northern Colorado (such as US-40 to the south or US-287 to the east/north). The journey itself offers scenic drives through Colorado's diverse landscapes, transitioning from plains to rolling hills and then into mountainous terrain.
The campground's name, "Riverbend," strongly suggests its proximity to a significant water body, which is confirmed by reviews mentioning "the campground river." This indicates easy access to fishing, wading, or simply enjoying the tranquil sounds of flowing water right from the campsite. The somewhat remote nature of Slater ensures a peaceful environment, minimizing urban noise and light pollution, which is highly desirable for a true outdoor escape.
For Coloradans living in the Denver metropolitan area, Fort Collins, or other northern cities, Riverbend Campground offers a manageable drive for a weekend getaway or a longer vacation, providing a genuine mountain experience without requiring travel deep into the most challenging mountain passes.
