Do not stay here without an RV.1 star is generous. If they were trying to drive me away they couldn’t have done a better job.We camp about once a year and have a cargo van and a tent. This year – May 2025 – I stayed the week before Memorial Day.Negatives:• Nobody was present for check-in, before 5 on a Saturday• Flush toilets near the campsites were filthy, blocked, and overflowing. Be glad I didn't include a photo.• Hot water was not turned on to the showers near the campsites, at least in the ladies’ room, although the hot tap in the basins worked. Showers at the front building ok.• Electric in my assigned spot didn’t work. Since there were empty spots all around, I parked in a different space. Having an electric heater means that yeah, electric is important. (it was in the 40s at night). I requested a refund, but per their contract they didn't have to give me one. Hence my first flaming review. I don't like to do that, but since the wretched experience was not my choice, a refund would have been good PR.• Outhouses are not maintained. If they are not closed, people will use them. That means they need to be cleaned and have toilet paper available!• Communication is not their strong pointPositives:• Great WiFi• Pretty quiet at least Sunday – Wednesday nights. I left Thursday• It’s rumored that the site could have been turned into housing, so props to the new owners for preventing that----Regarding the electric, I called, left a message, and got a reply saying I wasn’t in the right spot. I knew that and moved to spot 33, but the box didn’t work. Lots of going around and around by phone and email. Finally on Thursday I got a clear answer, which was to use the electric in spot 34, and (I assume – but it wasn’t clear) still park in spot 33?? If they had told me that on Monday, or when I checked in (Oh, yeah, nobody to check in with), I might not be so furious with them. My week was ruined. - Lisa R

For Ohioans exploring camping options, knowing what to expect from a potential destination is key to a successful outdoor adventure. Rippling Stream Campground in Baltimore, Ohio, presents itself as a rural retreat, and for local campers, understanding its unique aspects is essential before packing up the RV or tent. Unlike larger, more commercialized parks, Rippling Stream appears to offer a more rustic experience, and recent visitor feedback highlights important points to consider for your trip.

Located in the serene surroundings of Baltimore, Ohio, this campground has garnered varied reviews, painting a picture that emphasizes preparedness and perhaps a greater degree of self-reliance for campers. While some aspects, like its reportedly quiet atmosphere during weekdays and the presence of Wi-Fi, are noted as positives, other experiences shared by recent guests indicate that a full-service, hassle-free experience might not always be guaranteed. For those of us used to established state parks or well-maintained private campgrounds, approaching Rippling Stream with a clear understanding of its current conditions is paramount.

This article aims to provide a factual overview based on recent visitor insights, allowing you, as a fellow Ohio resident, to make an informed decision about whether Rippling Stream Campground aligns with your camping style and expectations. Location and Accessibility

Rippling Stream Campground is located at 3640 Reynoldsburg Baltimore Rd NW, Baltimore, OH 43105, USA. This address places it in a rural setting within Fairfield County, Ohio. For Ohio residents, Baltimore is situated relatively close to Columbus, making it potentially accessible for those seeking an escape from the city without venturing too far. The "NW" in the address suggests it's located on the northwestern side of Baltimore, indicating a potentially quieter, less congested area.

Access to the campground would typically involve driving on state and local roads. Reynoldsburg Baltimore Road NW is a route that connects rural areas, and while it's generally navigable, campers should always be prepared for country roads, especially if driving larger RVs or trailers. The rural nature of the location suggests a peaceful environment, particularly during off-peak times.

However, accessibility also encompasses the ease of check-in and on-site navigation. One recent review noted that "Nobody was present for check-in, before 5 on a Saturday," which could pose an initial challenge for arrivals. This suggests that campers should prepare for a potentially self-service check-in process or confirm arrival procedures well in advance. While the physical address is clear, the ease of access extends to the operational aspects of the campground, which may require proactive communication from the camper's side. For Ohio locals, understanding this aspect of accessibility is key to a smoother arrival.

Services Offered

Based on recent customer reviews, the services offered at Rippling Stream Campground appear to be quite basic and, in some instances, inconsistent in their delivery. It's crucial for prospective campers, especially those from Ohio planning a local trip, to manage their expectations regarding the level of amenities and maintenance. Here's a summary of the services reportedly available, along with critical notes from visitor experiences:

  • Campsites with Electric Hookups: Electric service is advertised for sites. However, one review explicitly stated that "Electric in my assigned spot didn’t work," leading to the camper having to move to a different spot. This suggests that reliability of electric hookups might be an issue, requiring vigilance upon arrival.
  • Flush Toilets: Flush toilets are reportedly available near campsites. However, a significant negative review stated these were "filthy, blocked, and overflowing," with a strong recommendation against using them. This indicates a severe lack of maintenance for these facilities during at least one recent visit.
  • Showers (with Hot Water): Showers are present near campsites, but a review noted that "Hot water was not turned on to the showers near the campsites, at least in the ladies’ room." While hot water was available in the basins, and showers at the "front building" were deemed "ok," this inconsistency is a critical factor for comfort.
  • Outhouses: Outhouses are also on the premises. However, reviews indicated they were "not maintained" and lacked toilet paper, suggesting they might not be suitable for use.
  • Wi-Fi: A significant positive mentioned by two separate reviewers is the "Great WiFi" or "availability of Wi-Fi, which was a definite plus." This appears to be a reliable and appreciated amenity.
  • Parking Areas: Designated parking areas are available, including near the main facilities.

It is important to note the reported issues with cleanliness, maintenance, and reliability of basic utilities like electricity and hot water. These concerns are critical for campers, particularly those relying on specific amenities for their comfort and safety. While some services are offered, their operational status and upkeep appear to be a significant area of concern for recent visitors.

Features / Highlights

Based on the recent customer feedback, the "features" and "highlights" of Rippling Stream Campground lean more towards its natural setting and certain conveniences, rather than a wide array of well-maintained amenities. For Ohio locals considering this campground, it’s important to distinguish between potential and confirmed positive aspects:

  • Good Wi-Fi Connectivity: This is the most consistently praised feature. Both reviews highlighted the "Great WiFi" as a significant positive, indicating reliable internet access, which can be crucial for many campers.
  • Quiet Atmosphere (During Off-Peak Days): One reviewer noted that the campground was "Pretty quiet at least Sunday – Wednesday nights." This suggests that during weekdays or less busy periods, it offers a peaceful environment for relaxation, which can be a draw for those seeking solitude.
  • Potential for Scenic Surroundings: While not explicitly detailed, the name "Rippling Stream" suggests a natural, potentially scenic environment, typical of rural Ohio. The implied setting might appeal to those looking for a simple connection with nature.
  • Preservation of Land: A unique, albeit unconfirmed, positive point mentioned is a "rumor" that the site "could have been turned into housing, so props to the new owners for preventing that." If true, this indicates a commitment by the ownership to maintain the land for camping and recreation, which could be a positive for conservation-minded individuals.

It's crucial to acknowledge that these positive highlights are mentioned amidst significant concerns regarding facility maintenance, communication, and basic utility reliability. Therefore, while Wi-Fi and a quiet atmosphere might be present, they must be weighed against the reported challenges in other areas of the campground experience.

Promotions or Special Offers

Based on the provided customer reviews for Rippling Stream Campground, there is no information available regarding specific "promotions" or "special offers" in the commercial sense (e.g., discounts, packages). The reviews focus entirely on the operational aspects and the quality of the facilities and services. One reviewer did mention a personal request for a refund due to issues encountered, which was denied "per their contract," indicating that standard cancellation or refund policies are strictly enforced rather than special allowances.

Given the nature of the feedback, which highlights significant issues with facility maintenance and communication, it is unlikely that the campground is actively promoting special deals. Their primary focus, based on these accounts, would likely be on addressing operational concerns rather than marketing incentives.

For Ohio locals interested in staying at Rippling Stream Campground, the "offer" would simply be access to their standard camping rates for RV or tent sites, with the understanding that the amenities might be basic and their functionality should be confirmed prior to or upon arrival. Any pricing or booking details would need to be obtained directly from the campground or through their booking platform. It is always wise to thoroughly review their terms and conditions, especially regarding refunds or changes, given the reported issues with communication and facility reliability.

  • Phone: (740) 862-6065
  • Mobile Phone: +1 740-862-6065

However, it is critically important to note that recent customer feedback heavily indicates significant issues with communication. Another mentioned "Nobody was present for check-in" on a Saturday before 5 PM.

Therefore, while the phone numbers are provided, prospective visitors should be prepared for potential difficulties in reaching staff or getting clear, timely responses. Conclusion: Why This Place is Suitable for Locals

For Ohioans considering Rippling Stream Campground in Baltimore, it's crucial to approach this destination with a clear and informed perspective. While the location offers a rural escape that might appeal to those seeking quiet solitude, recent customer experiences highlight significant operational challenges that make it suitable for a very specific type of camper, and potentially less so for others.

If you are an Ohio local who is highly self-sufficient, comfortable with primitive conditions, and primarily seeking a quiet, no-frills place to park an RV with reliable Wi-Fi, then Rippling Stream might potentially fit your needs, especially during non-peak weekdays when it's reportedly quiet. The existence of Wi-Fi is a consistent positive, and for those who value digital connectivity even while camping, this could be a draw. Furthermore, the rumored preservation of the land from development could be appealing to individuals who prioritize keeping natural spaces open for recreation.

However, it is imperative that prospective visitors from Ohio understand the prevalent issues cited in recent reviews. These include serious concerns about the cleanliness and functionality of flush toilets and outhouses, inconsistent hot water in showers (and rust issues), unreliable electric hookups in assigned spots, and significant communication difficulties with staff, including absent check-in personnel. These factors mean that campers must be prepared for potential inconveniences and be ready to troubleshoot issues independently or have robust backup plans for essential services.

Therefore, while Rippling Stream Campground offers a rural Ohio setting, it is best suited for locals who are truly seasoned, highly adaptable campers with low expectations for on-site amenities and customer service, and who prioritize quiet Wi-Fi access above all else. For those expecting a well-maintained, fully operational, or easily accessible campground with responsive staff and clean facilities, the current feedback suggests that alternative options within Ohio might lead to a more positive and comfortable experience. It's a place that demands preparedness and a high tolerance for operational inconsistencies from its visitors.
