As a cherished Ohio State Park campground, Pymatuning State Park Campground adheres to the standard pricing and reservation policies set by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR). While it doesn't typically offer commercial-style "promotions" in the way a private campground might, Ohio residents can often take advantage of established state-level discounts and seasonal value.
- Golden Buckeye Card Discount: Ohio residents holding a Golden Buckeye Card are eligible for a 50% discount on camping fees Sunday through Thursday, and a 10% discount on Friday and Saturday. This is a significant benefit for seniors.
- Active/Retired Military Discount: All active duty and retired military service members receive a 10% discount on all overnight facilities, valid every night of the week.
- Disabled Veteran and Former Prisoner of War Free Camping Pass: Eligible Ohio residents who are honorably discharged, permanently and totally disabled veterans or former POWs can apply for a free camping pass at Ohio State Parks.
- Off-Peak Season Value: As noted in customer reviews, visiting during the "off-peak" or "winter camping" season (November to March) can offer a unique experience with fewer crowds and often reduced fees for full-service sites (due to limited water access at sites, though water is still available centrally). This provides a quiet and often more serene experience.
Reservations for campsites, cabins, and yurts can be made up to six months (for camping) or one year (for cabins) in advance through the official Ohio State Parks reservation system online or by calling their toll-free number. It is always recommended to check the Ohio DNR website for the most current information on rates, availability, and specific discount eligibility requirements, as terms can apply.

Pymatuning State Park Campground Reviews
Pymie is a beautiful lake. Do not go there to catch Walleye, as it will disappoint you. Go to fish as they have a variety of species....cabins are good and they keep them in "good" shape. Appear to be some slow improvements coming.
May 27, 2025 · Larry D. CollinsGreat camp experience! The amenities are nice and clean and there are fun things to do around the campground.
May 30, 2025 · Stacie SaboCampsite 180 needs totally redone. Pad is excessively sloped making it dangerous to enter and exit camper. Site is washed out with large tree roots sticking out. A yard of topsoil needs brought in and grass planted.
Jun 03, 2025 · Forest ThompsonWe had a beautiful, waterfront site. Our original reservation was for 2 nights - but we were able to add on a third since it was open. The ladies in the camp store were nice. The bathrooms were super clean. We 100% loved our location. #346. Perfect for dogs too.Only and I mean only complaint. There was no hand soap in the mens or women's restroom basically the entire trip. Not sure why?TIP: If you are buying firewood, the best price we found was across the street from the KOA (not even a mile away) it is on the honor system in their front yard.
Jul 30, 2024 · Andrea TajgiszerWell kept, beautiful, peaceful campgrounds. Lovely and attentive staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We appreciated the nature center (with eagle nest) and the gift shop has some great items that we've not seen before. Really nice shower houses and a clean laundry facility. Being right next the lake gave a fantastic view for even those who weren't camping directly on the lake. We could easily see it and walk to it from our site.
