Pooh’s Corner Introduce
For New Yorkers who appreciate a quieter, more personal camping experience away from the bustling crowds of state parks, **Pooh’s Corner Campground** offers a delightful alternative. Located just minutes from the world-famous Watkins Glen State Park and the scenic shores of Seneca Lake in the 14891 zip code, this small, family-run operation provides a unique and highly-rated local getaway. It embodies the charm of a true "mom and pop" campsite, focusing heavily on **privacy, cleanliness, and thoughtful amenities**.
The campground is specifically known for its limited number of sites—only a handful—which ensures a high degree of seclusion for every guest. This intimate setting is a major draw for local residents in the New York region seeking a peaceful retreat where they can truly unplug. Customer reviews frequently praise the private nature of the sites and the care taken by the hosts, highlighting the difference between a large, commercial campground and this smaller, more personal venture.
Unlike larger facilities, Pooh’s Corner is geared towards **tent and car camping**, with some capacity for smaller RVs and vans (typically under 16 feet), as the layout and narrow access make it challenging for big rigs or fifth-wheel campers. This specialization ensures that the atmosphere remains serene and focused on traditional outdoor enjoyment rather than large-scale vehicle traffic. It’s an ideal spot for New Yorkers looking for a quiet, private slice of the Finger Lakes region.
Pooh’s Corner is conveniently located at **3315 County Rd 28, Watkins Glen, NY 14891**. This address places it just about 1.5 to 4 miles from the main village of Watkins Glen and Seneca Lake, making it incredibly accessible for local activities. The campground sits on County Road 28, which provides easy navigation from nearby routes without sacrificing the feeling of being nestled in a rural, wooded area.
The close proximity—a noted five-minute drive—to Seneca Lake is a major advantage for campers. This means easy access to all the activities the Finger Lakes region is famous for: hiking the gorges, exploring wineries and breweries, swimming, and boating. For New York residents, the convenience of reaching this secluded spot quickly after leaving the highway is a significant time-saver, maximizing precious weekend or vacation hours.
While the location is rural, the property is designed for easy on-site parking at each campsite. However, due to its small, private nature and focus on seclusion, guests driving larger vehicles are strongly advised to check with the owners beforehand, as access trails and site sizes are tailored more for car and tent setups.
The services at Pooh’s Corner are thoughtfully curated to enhance the rustic experience with key modern conveniences, reflecting its commitment to customer comfort and its "mom and pop" attention to detail.

Pooh’s Corner Reviews
This place is a great little getaway. There's only a hand full of sites on the property & each one of them are nice. It's only about a five minute drive to the lake which has a bunch of things to do around it. Not to mention its a small mom/pops operation which makes it even better in my opinion.
