Pinney Bridge State Forest Campground

Mancelona, MI 49659, USA

4.0
Very nice and quiet campground. Campsites are spaced out enough to were you really won't hear anyone. It's a bit of walk to get in but most people are here for backpacking/hiking in general so you shouldn't be shocked. Vaulted toilets are kept in good condition. Only complaint is that it is pretty pricey ($20/night) especially for what little the site has to offer. - Fancy Spider

Instead, it embraces a more minimalist approach, catering specifically to those who appreciate peace, quiet, and a deeper connection with Michigan's stunning natural landscapes. It's the kind of place where you truly "enjoy the out of doors with just a few simple comforts."

Pinney Bridge is particularly renowned among backpackers and serious hikers, serving as a vital stop along some of Northern Michigan's most scenic long-distance trails. Its "hike-in only" nature means that campsites are beautifully spaced out, ensuring a level of solitude rarely found in more developed campgrounds. This makes it an ideal retreat for individuals or small groups looking to decompress and immerse themselves in the quietude of the forest.

Situated on the pristine Jordan River, Michigan's first designated scenic river, the campground provides a tranquil backdrop for your outdoor adventures. For those who prioritize natural beauty, quietude, and direct access to expansive trail systems over modern conveniences, Pinney Bridge State Forest Campground is a compelling destination right here in our Michigan backyard.
