pine haven eco-campgrounds Introduce
For those of us who call Vermont home, the beauty of our state's natural landscapes, from rolling mountains to serene rivers, is a constant invitation to explore and unwind. When you're seeking an authentic outdoor experience that balances rustic charm with convenient access to local attractions, **Pine Haven Eco-Campgrounds** in Colchester, VT, offers a unique option. This campground aims to provide a relaxed atmosphere, particularly for tent campers and groups, nestled right by a calming river. We understand the value of finding accessible and enjoyable local spots for our Vermont adventures, and Pine Haven presents a distinct choice for those looking for a laid-back, community-oriented camping experience.
**Pine Haven Eco-Campgrounds** is a place that evokes a "chilled vibe," as described by one satisfied visitor, making it an appealing destination for those looking to decompress and enjoy the simple pleasures of nature. While it caters to a specific type of camper, particularly those focused on tent camping, its proximity to both natural waterways and urban centers like Burlington provides a versatile base for various activities. It's a place where you can enjoy the sounds of the river, engage in water activities, and then easily transition to exploring the vibrant city life just a short drive away. As with any outdoor destination, it's beneficial for local Vermonters to consider the specific amenities and setup to ensure it aligns with their camping preferences. Whether you're planning a group outing or a solo escape to reconnect with Vermont's serene environment, Pine Haven offers a distinct flavor of camping that resonates with many who appreciate a less commercialized approach to outdoor living.
---**Pine Haven Eco-Campgrounds** is conveniently located at **Pine Haven Rd #3, Colchester, VT 05446, USA**. This address places it in Colchester, a town that offers an excellent balance between natural beauty and urban accessibility, making it an ideal spot for Vermont residents.
One of the most significant advantages of its location is its proximity to Burlington, Vermont's largest city. As one review highlights, it's "close enough to Burlington for city adventures too." This means that after a day of enjoying the campground's natural setting, you can easily drive into Burlington to explore its vibrant downtown, enjoy lakeside activities, dine at local restaurants, or visit cultural attractions. This dual benefit of natural immersion and urban access is a key draw for many Vermonters who appreciate convenience during their outdoor getaways.
Furthermore, the campground's setting "Right by a river" offers immediate access to water activities, providing a natural playground just steps from your tent. While one review mentions the sound of a "highway bridge right next to us" sometimes drowning out the river, the presence of the river itself and a "deck for water activities in the hot weather" remains a significant highlight. For those of us living in Vermont, easy access to water for recreation is often a top priority, and Pine Haven delivers on that. The accessibility from major roads leading into Colchester also ensures a relatively smooth journey, allowing you to maximize your time enjoying the campground and surrounding areas rather than spending it navigating complicated routes. This strategic location makes Pine Haven Eco-Campgrounds a practical and appealing choice for a local Vermont camping trip.
---**Pine Haven Eco-Campgrounds** offers a specific set of services designed for a more rustic yet comfortable tent camping experience. Based on customer reviews, here's what you can expect:
- Hot Shower Facilities: A significant highlight, especially for tent campers, is the availability of "hot shower facilities." This amenity provides a welcome comfort, allowing campers to refresh themselves after a day of outdoor activities.
- Water Access for Activities: The campground is located "Right by a river with a deck for water activities in the hot weather." This implies direct access to the river for swimming, kayaking, or simply enjoying the waterfront.

- No Outhouses (Porta-Potties): The absence of traditional outhouses, with "just a portapotty" available, is also noted. While functional, this might be a consideration for those accustomed to different restroom facilities.

---Based on the provided customer reviews, there are no specific promotions or special offers explicitly mentioned for **Pine Haven Eco-Campgrounds**. This is not uncommon for smaller, more focused campgrounds, especially those with a strong emphasis on a particular type of camping experience, like tent camping.

Perfect place for group tent camping complete with hot shower facilities and a lovely chilled vibe at the campground. Right by a river with a deck for water activities in the hot weather, and close enough to Burlington for city adventures too. The owner, Dunlap, was really helpful throughout the weekend! Thanks again!
Jul 08, 2020 · Sarah KDo not pay $45 for this "tent campground." It is basically an RV site with a little patch of grass for tents down by the river (which sounds nice, but the river was drowned out by the highway bridge right next to us, and it was super buggy). There was nowhere to fill up our water bottles. We had to choose between a garden hose that we couldn't turn on and the shower heads. There was no sink. And there was no outhouse--just a portapotty. This would all be fine if we were paying a comparable price. Other campgrounds I've stayed at have had similar situations, but I paid no more than $20 for those. Just down the road, we stayed at Grand Isle State Park for $28 ($20 for VT residents) and they had bathrooms, sinks, and spigots (not to mention great views of the lake and very friendly staff).
Jul 03, 2023 · Amy PalmerThis place is really great. The tent sites down by the river are gorgeous and very quiet. The outdoor shower is heavenly. The owner is laid back and flexible. Close to Burlington/Winooski but also easy to access lots of hiking and outdoor activities. And the price is very reasonable. Stay here!
Aug 16, 2017 · Laura McNeillThe owner, Dunlap, is very prompt and also relaxed. As long as you respect his property he will certainly respect you. Very easy drive to and from the site to Burlington, also extremely affordable rates for a gorgeous, peaceful, clean and quiet campground. I will definitely be returning!!
Aug 03, 2017 · April CorboThis place is a little hidden gem! After looking around for a campground over Fourth of July weekend that wasn't booked and could take our dog, we stumbled across this campground and we're glad we did. It's an Adult Only Eco campground and the environment is very laid back. Dunlap the owner was more than happy to have us and set us up on the lake which was private and perfect for our dog to run around. We stayed three nights for $25/night. It's about 20 mins from Burlington and 35 mins from Stowe. It's also right next to Lake Champlain islands so you can drive up those where there are state parks and more to explore. There's an outdoor shower and only a portapotty but we made it work. Dunlap suggested many local places for us to check out that ended up being great. Would definitely New the place in mind next time we're up in the area!
