For Californians, Pine City Campground represents an almost ideal blend of breathtaking natural beauty, essential comforts, and unparalleled convenience, making it an exceptionally suitable destination for local outdoor enthusiasts. The "secret" many long-time visitors wish to keep is the seamless integration of pristine wilderness with surprisingly modern amenities. The presence of real flush toilets, meticulously cleaned multiple times a day, elevates the camping experience significantly, addressing a common concern for those who prefer more comfort than traditional vault toilets offer. This attention to detail demonstrates a commitment to guest satisfaction that few other campgrounds can match.
The true magic for locals, however, lies in its strategic location and the accessibility it provides. Being "right in the middle of the lake" with unobstructed views of Lake Mary and the mountains offers a consistently inspiring backdrop for any activity. More critically, the free Mammoth trolley stop directly in front of the campground is a game-changer. This amenity transforms the entire Mammoth Lakes Basin into your extended playground, allowing you to explore other lakes, hiking trails, and even downtown Mammoth without the hassle of driving and finding parking. For families, this means more time enjoying adventures and less time stressing about logistics. Furthermore, the dedicated and friendly camp hosts, consistently praised as "delightful" and treating everyone with "love and respect," foster a welcoming and safe environment. Their vigilance in maintaining cleanliness and educating campers about bear safety (given the active wildlife, like "Cinnamon the campsite bear") provides a significant level of comfort and peace of mind. For Californians seeking a reliable, beautiful, and hassle-free camping experience in one of the state's most iconic outdoor regions, Pine City Campground offers an extraordinary opportunity to create cherished memories, year after year. Pine City Reviews
Beautiful campground right in the middle of the lake. Unobstructed view of the lake and mountains. Camp Host Bobby and Tom kept the place very clean, they are so very friendly, they treat all with love and respect. Real flush toilet, cleaned at least three times a day. I offered to pay for their dinner in Mammoth but they declined. Site 7 is the best, biggest parking with lots of trees for hammocks.
Jul 25, 2022 · Vincent & Samantha NguyenI almost hate to post how awesome this campground is LOL. I hope to keep it a secrete. We have been here year after year and never disappointed. The camp host was bobby and it was his first year. He was as delightful as Vern, who has been camp host previous years. The spots are first come first serve. Plus the mammoth free trolley stop is right in front of campground and it takes you to all the lakes and downtown mammoth every 30 mins. The other plus, Lake Mary is right across the street and you can just carry your pole and throw it in. Grandkids love it. Cinnamon is the campsite bear. Twice daily he walks through camp so keeping food secure is a MUST
Sep 17, 2022 · chris cullenLong time Mammoth camper, first time staying in pine city campground. I have never done a review on a camp host, but, Bobby was an amazing host! The campsites were clean and well kept by Bobby as well as the restrooms!!! Bobby is on top of it and makes you feel welcomed and safe! Always there to help or answer a question.
Aug 23, 2022 · Yvonne ArvizoPine City is so rad! There are 5 campgrounds in a loop off of Lake Mary Road. Pine City is a 10 site first come first serve facing Lake Mary. We had site 10. Incredible views. Daily bear activity but nothing to worry about if you have common sense. Clean bathrooms, flushing toilets and running water. Vern the host was great. 15 minutes out of Mammoth Lakes proper. 5 mile bike ride that is all down hill to town with a free trolley to take you back up the hill. Only reason I give it 4 stars is because during the day, the road in front of the campground has a decent amount of traffic and most people don't go the posted 10 mph speed limit. Could use some speed bumps. Other than that, amazing spot.
Jul 26, 2020 · Joe C Bunting IIINice, small 10 site campground overlooking Lake Mary. Fishing is just a short walk to lake's edge which is stocked with large rainbows. A host is on site to help you enjoy your stay.
