Picnic Point Campground Reviews
This is a great tent camping campground because it's all walk in sites. No giant RVs with generators and lights etc. Almost all of the sites have fantastic views and they are just a short walk to the lodge store and restaurant.
Sep 13, 2020 · Ben ZThis campground has a great view of the lake from most of the spots. You do have to pack your gear into each spot from the parking lot, but it's not very far. There's a small store, restaurant, and bar right below this campground. There's also a boat launch and dock by the bar. The lake offers boating, fishing, and has a great swimming area. There's 2 rope swings at the lake as well.
Mar 02, 2019 · RJ CarlsonGreat place for the Griswolds.I was expecting a more serene environment but found this campground to be very commercial and noisy with screaming kids and parents with untied and barking dogs at all hours. I stayed two nights and we had about four hours of quiet time each day - between 2 am and 6 am. Otherwise forget about sleeping. No one follows any type of consideration and the NFS does not enforce. There were more than 8 people at three sites that I could tell. People are coming and going at all hours of the night beeping their car locks, yelling across the campground and throwing junk all around the sites. What you’ll get here is akin to a noisy RV campground without the RVs.There are 8 sites with roughly half reserves and the other walk ins. The trick people adopt is to reserve a tent site early like Wednesday or Thursday, then leave the tent set up unoccupied until they show up on the weekend. This is against the rules but it is not inforced. The lake is beautiful and is good for boating etc. but there are party pontoons at night that carry on late. One has neon lights and you can hear the drunken people until 2 am.Hey if partying in the woods is your thing then this is the place for you. But if want to get away from the city and grab some down time in nature you will be disappointed.
