Pemi River Campground Reviews
We went last summer and it was nice. Had a nice spot right at the river, kids enjoyed themselves, so did we. A bit too close to the highway, so traffic is what you hear ALL night long. But we wanted to come back this summer, despite the traffic at night.......however, I have been calling and emailing them since February trying to make a reservation and I have gotten ZERO response. I get that during off season you may not be taking reservations yet, but you should certainly contact people back and let them know that or once you are taking reservations......CALL PEOPLE BACK! Very poor business practices. My family and I have been sitting in limbo for 3 1/2 months, not knowing what we are doing for vacation this year. Now, it's just over 4 weeks until the vacation time requested, and we have no spot 😞 very disappointing. Definitely not going to waste my time anymore this year or any years in the future trying to contact them. Shame on y'all for being so disrespectful to your guests.
May 22, 2025 · Irene MoylanI recently spent a week at the Pemi River Campground and had an amazing experience. My two teenage boys had a blast as there is so much for them to do: fishing, swimming, jumping off the bridge into the river, tubing and kayaking. The seasonal patrons make visitors feel right at home. I found the staff to be extremely friendly, while ensuring the campground is safe and family friendly. We were in one of the cabins and found them to be clean and comfortable. The bathhouses are kept immaculate and always fully stocked. I can envision making this trip each summer to enjoy the scenic views and family friendly atmosphere.
Jul 17, 2024 · Tim McDuffeeI highly recommend their tubing down the Pemi!We changed our plans last minute to have a river day instead of a hike day, of course every place we called was already fully booked. Except these guys, since they are first come first served they had plenty of tubes. It was a 4 hour ride at the most peaceful relaxing pace.Since the river was low there were a few thin spots but they were super easy to scoot over or just stand up and walk over.We brought food and water in little backpacks but they sell nice floating rafts to hold all your food and drinks too.The river water is pristine, clean and the perfect temperature. Our group spends a ton of active time outdoors and we were so impressed with the whole experience.
Jul 24, 2024 · Kristin WhiteFirst of all, I need to say the lady that checked us in was awesome. I don’t know what the other reviewers saw, but she was a very pleasant person. Also, I want to tip my hat to the maintenance man he fix an electrical problem in five minutes flat .awesome people I can’t say enough about this campground. The site we had was right on the water beautiful view watching the river so peacefully flow the site we had had water and electricity.#25 totally awesome. no mosquitoes at all .Nice sandy beach .river tubing was fantastic three-hour gentle ride down the river on a tube on a sunny day. Life doesn’t get any better than that.We will be back …
Jul 19, 2024 · Jim WilliamsLove this place. Very chill place. My big thing with campgrounds is the rules and how the management treats you. This place has minimal rules and the management leaves you alone. We partied all night. No one bothered us. We kept the music at a reasonable level.Beautiful riverside sites. Nice level campground easy to ride bikes. Plenty of riverside sites available. Other places give the premium sites to the seasonals. Not this place. We had a nice time and will definitely return. The public bathrooms are outstanding. Clean and in good condition. Beautiful showers. Nice playground and horseshoe pits. This place has everything you need. No pool but the river is crystal clear and refreshing. They do not allow any outside firewood which is kind of silly since I could buy wood nearby. However they charge a reasonable price for a bundle of dry wood which actually burns for quite some time. $7 per bundle and 3-4 bundles got us through a night.Thank you for a nice relaxing weekend. We will be back.
