Michigan, with its stunning natural beauty, offers an abundance of opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts to connect with nature. For those seeking the quintessential camping experience, finding the right campground is key. Today, we're taking a closer look at Outdoor Adventures, a prominent name in the Michigan camping scene, located right here in Bay City. Whether you're a seasoned RVer, a tent-camping purist, or a family looking for a fun getaway, understanding what Outdoor Adventures offers can help you plan your next adventure.
Outdoor Adventures aims to provide a comprehensive camping experience for its members. While the information available primarily focuses on membership-based access to various resorts, the core offering revolves around providing spaces and amenities for recreational vehicles and tent campers alike. Their approach is designed to create a community for those who love the outdoors, fostering a sense of belonging among fellow adventurers.
While specific details on individual resort offerings might vary and evolve, the general concept behind Outdoor Adventures is to facilitate access to a network of camping locations. This allows members to explore different regions of Michigan, each offering its unique charm and outdoor activities. From lakeside retreats to wooded sanctuaries, the diversity of potential experiences is a significant draw for many Michigan residents looking to make the most of their leisure time.
One of the most frequently highlighted aspects of Outdoor Adventures, as noted by customer feedback, is their commitment to being a dog-friendly campground. For many Michigan families, pets are an integral part of the family, and being able to bring furry companions along on camping trips is a significant advantage. This policy ensures that more people can enjoy the great outdoors without having to leave their beloved pets behind, making for a more inclusive and enjoyable experience for everyone.
The location of Outdoor Adventures' administrative office, 800 Washington Ave STE 200, Bay City, MI 48708, USA, places it within easy reach for many residents in the Lower Peninsula of Michigan. Bay City itself is a vibrant community with its own attractions, making it a convenient base for exploring the Saginaw Bay area. Accessibility to the main office for inquiries or membership management is a practical benefit for local members, allowing for direct communication and support.
Regarding accessibility to their campgrounds, Outdoor Adventures' network of resorts is strategically spread across Michigan. While specific directions to each resort would vary, the general principle is that they are situated in areas known for their natural beauty and recreational opportunities. This ensures that no matter where you are in Michigan, there's likely an Outdoor Adventures location within a reasonable driving distance, making weekend getaways or longer vacations easily achievable for local residents.
The concept of a membership-based campground network is designed to provide consistent access to quality camping facilities. For those who frequently camp throughout the year, a membership can offer a cost-effective and convenient way to secure camping spots without the hassle of booking individual sites at various, unrelated campgrounds. This streamlined approach appeals to many Michigan families and individuals who prioritize regular outdoor excursions.
Outdoor Adventures aims to foster a sense of community among its members. Through organized events and shared amenities, campers can connect with like-minded individuals and families, creating lasting memories and friendships. This social aspect is a significant draw for many, transforming a simple camping trip into a richer, more interactive experience. The opportunity to share stories around a campfire or participate in group activities adds another layer to the camping adventure, making it more than just a place to sleep outdoors.
While the overall concept is appealing, it's also important to acknowledge feedback from members. Some members have expressed concerns regarding changes in the availability of specific resorts within Michigan, particularly the acquisition of properties out of state. This highlights the dynamic nature of membership programs and the importance of staying informed about any adjustments to the resort network. Members who initially joined for specific Michigan-based camping options naturally hope for those options to remain robust and available.
However, the positive aspects, such as the comprehensive tours and detailed explanations provided by staff like Joe and Josh, suggest a commitment to member education and satisfaction. A thorough understanding of the program from the outset is crucial for members to maximize the value of their investment. The focus on clear communication and transparency during the onboarding process can significantly enhance the member experience.

Outdoor Adventures Reviews
Great presentation. Joe was very thorough and explained everything in detail. And Josh was wonderful. We really enjoyed our tour. It's beautiful dog-friendly campground.
Jun 09, 2025 · Mindy WomackJust learned that the Grand Haven resort will no longer be an option for members as of July. Also, Rifle River, Lake George in West Branch and Wilderness no longer appear as resorts in the system & Beaver Creek is not available any more. Many members are very disenchanted with their memberships. We are losing camping options in Michigan as properties are purchased out of state. Most members I talk to bought into this program for summer camping in Michigan. So many of the "amenities" that sold us in 2000 when we purchased our membership, have fallen by the wayside. We upgraded our membership and paid a great deal of money for program upgrades that have become less & less valuable to us. We have been to meetings to voice our concerns, but it falls on deaf ears. Not all members want to camp in busy, overcrowded, city like campgrounds. But if OAI continues to sell off the less populated options (Rifle River, Grand Haven, Wilderness, Lake George, Beaver Creek) what are we left with? We used to love our membership and talked it up to people all the time. Now we are less than happy with a program that we have invested a lot of money into.
May 28, 2025 · Nancy PowserShawnie smith was awesome! She was very informative, personal and friendly during the tour. I never felt pressured to become a member. While this membership doesn’t fit my life, the property was beautiful.
Apr 25, 2025 · Crystal LCame with my grandparents and was assisted by Ron and Josh and the tour was amazing. I love how exciting and fun they were the resort is beautiful and huge with many activities for the full family. The Cabins are clean and spacious & fully equipment:I would recommend to anyone.
Mar 09, 2024 · Areshia Gibbs-BradleyWe bought a membership 10 years ago. It was great. The place was clean. We aren’t campers and the cabins were at a very reasonable rate. Now 10 years later and thousands of dollars later, the rates are very high. We can’t even afford to stay there. Not only that our yearly maintenance fees went up 50 percent in the past 10 years. We used to like going there. But now not so much now.4So we get a phone call from Outdoor Adventures about updates and if we have any questions. Turns out what it is they want to try and sell you and upgrade your membership. In this economic environment, they are asking people for more money??? Who has that kind of money? I can’t even imagine what a membership is now.I would love for Outdoor Adventures to let people opt out their membership without penalty. And also, after you’ve been a member after a certain time, your maintenance fees should be locked in permanently.Like I said we used to love going there. But now, we rarely even go there. That place used to be better.
