Oscar Scherer State Park Campground Reviews
We visited Oscar Scherer State Park over Valentine's Day weekend, stayed 3 nights. We have a 31ft travel trailer. The sites are nice. Not the biggest but we had room for our 3 dogs. There is enough space and vegetation in between sites so you are not on top of your neighbor's. The sites have a packed sand which we liked and no red ants. The campground was full that weekend and there were a lot of dogs. Our dogs are large and love humans. Do they love other strange dogs? It's a hit or miss. Do you like every person you meet? So when the site behind us didn't have their 2 small dogs on a leash, it was a little stressful. One of their dogs came barking and running under our camper where our dogs were minding their own business and each on a leash. Due to our quick thinking, drama was avoided. While we were walking our dogs we passed several people also walking their leashed dogs and everything was peaceful until we noticed someone walking their dog with the leash hanging and dragging on the ground and the person on their phone 4 ft behind their dog. We have been to many campgrounds and never had any issues with people and their dogs not being leashed or controlled but here we could not trust other people with following the rules, so we spent most of our time inside our camper and could not enjoy all the wonderful trails the campground has to offer. We did see a lot of beautiful birds (even snapped a picture of a Florida Turkey 😂) and wildlife. We would go back but without our dogs next time.

Jan 09, 2025 · Kris HoodOlder but great outdoor activity campground that us great distance from the beach and town. 5 minutes from Publix. Good cell reception in campground.
Mar 20, 2025 · Paul StoneWe spent 11 nights here in May 2023! Beautiful place, lots of wildlife, excellent service, Joel at nature center was very informative about the area and displays in the center. Registration folks were great as well. Very clean restrooms, in fact the white area was clean and tidy. Easy to get into spaces, plenty of room and shade. Absolutely wonderful.
May 24, 2023 · Ronda WeaverI've stayed here atleast three times and always have an enjoyable time. The sites are mostly private and spacious. However, Ian has made some alittle less shady in his wake. The paths are great and we saw an eagle nest and eagle soaring.
