North Beach Campground

It must be mentioned that if you are planning on tent camping it is really not safe. We stayed for two nights, tent camping and had multiple run ins - and incidents with homeless in and around the campground. I know it is not their fault - I know that their overnight security does their best - but when you are camping and walk out of the shower to someone leaning and using the facilities you paid for whom is also combative and aggressive it is not acceptable. I was later told by a Vt state park staffer that it is safer to camp among bears than to be at North Beach in a tent ! Love the location - love the city - amenities were nice - but before I go back something must change with this homeless problem. I seriously advise that if you are tent camping alone or with children this is not the place for you instead there are much safer campgrounds further north of the city ! - Kenneth Pangbourne
