Nordheimer Group Sites, while emphasizing a primitive camping experience, provides essential amenities and unique features that make it an ideal choice for specific types of campers.
Private Group Sites: The standout service offered here is the dedication to private group camping. As highlighted by a past visitor, having a "private site for a week" for a birthday celebration with "around 25 campers with their kids and dogs" is a testament to the capacity and privacy available. This allows large gatherings to coexist comfortably without infringing on others' space.
Seclusion and Separation: A key feature noted by visitors is the ability to be "separated from the main campground by a small stream." This natural barrier enhances the feeling of exclusivity and quietude for group campers.
Noise Tolerance: For groups who anticipate making some noise, perhaps with lively conversations, music, or children playing, the design of Nordheimer Group Sites is particularly beneficial. One review specifically mentioned being "able to make noise without disturbing others," which is a significant advantage for celebrations and large gatherings.
Vault Toilets: Embracing its primitive nature, the campground provides vault toilets. While not flush toilets, these are a standard and well-maintained facility in many rustic camping environments, ensuring basic sanitation.
Dog-Friendly Environment: The positive feedback from a camper who brought "kids and dogs" underscores that this is a welcoming place for your furry family members, a crucial aspect for many California outdoor enthusiasts.
Beyond the services, the features and highlights of Nordheimer Group Sites truly define the camping experience.
Expansive Capacity for Large Groups: This is arguably the most significant highlight. The ability to accommodate "around 25 campers with their kids and dogs" comfortably speaks to the sheer size and versatility of the group sites. This makes it perfect for multi-family trips, large friend groups, or organizational outings.
Authentic Primitive Camping Experience: For those who "roll" with a more basic approach to camping, Nordheimer Group Sites delivers. The lack of running water (no water) and reliance on vault toilets signifies a true back-to-nature experience, appealing to campers who prefer to disconnect from modern conveniences.
Enhanced Privacy with Natural Barriers: The mention of a "small stream" separating the private site from the main campground, coupled with the potential for a lockable gate, highlights an exceptional level of privacy and control for group bookings. This is a rare and valuable feature for group camping.
Freedom for Activity and Celebration: The explicit ability to "make noise without disturbing others" is a major draw for groups celebrating or simply enjoying spirited conversation and activities. This freedom often sets group sites like Nordheimer apart from more restrictive public campgrounds.
Immersive Natural Setting: While not explicitly detailed in the provided reviews, the location in Forks of Salmon, California, strongly implies a beautiful natural environment, likely offering opportunities for hiking, wildlife viewing, and stargazing, all contributing to a rich outdoor experience.

NORDHEIMER GROUP SITES Reviews
We had the private site for a week for my son's 31 birthday and it was incredible. We were able to have all of his friends camp with us while they had time off from work. On any given day we had around 25 campers with their kids and dogs. We were separated from the main campground by a small stream and had a gate we could have locked had we wanted to. We were also able to make noise without disturbing others. It is a somewhat primitive campground, no water and vault toilets, but that's how we roll!
