Mystery Creek Campground Reviews
The rustic sites down by the river are AMAZING....during the week. We checked in Thursday and had a pretty peaceful stay until Saturday. We were awakened by hooting and hollering at 7am and the parade of cars going to the boat launch was never ending all day, not to mention the golf carts! Even though we had paid for the night, we finally picked up and left around 6pm because of the incessant noise and traffic on and near our campsite. Thank you to the kind owners for allowing us the opportunity to stay. They offer tube and kayak rentals, which is fine but understand that if you choose a rustic site, you will have to deal with the constant traffic to and from the river. Not to mention the splashing and noise when we were trying to fish. Sorry, it was just way too much for us. The site was beautiful when it was quiet.
Jun 16, 2025 · Mandy MichaelThis is an awesome place to camp. They have a rustic area down below with spots along the river that are really nice. They have float trips, or you can take your own. You can go above the campground and float back into the campground, or leave the campground and float down to the bridge. My grandkids love the rope swing over the river. I had some difficulty on my last trip and the owners and staff were very nice and helpful.
Sep 19, 2024 · Jeannie HernandezOwners are super friendly and honestly the best stretch of the river to go kayaking or tubing. I camp here multiple times a year and kayak about every weekend in the summer and this is my favorite place to go.
Aug 10, 2024 · Nick PamerThis spot was a bit off the beaten path, but quite accommodating for all campers! Lots of activities for kids - a large grassy area with corn hole, giant connect 4, horseshoe pit, and a sand volleyball court. The river is very close by and the owners host river floats (extra cost). I only had a one night stay, but Jason was a delightful and accommodating host.
Jul 15, 2022 · Kate JoyceJason and hos family were wonderful hosts !! Jason personally made sure that he could work our 16 person group in for the river trip since he was already tending to a group of 80 that day. Then after they were waiting for us at the end to bring our tubes back to camp ! The Muskegon river is a beautiful river to tube with lots of aandbar areas to stop. Jason also was able to get us a nice shady & Sunny camping spot for all 16 of us two trailers and 5 tents. It was a perfect campsite with all the games right across for us to play cornhole volleyball connect 4 jenga. As well as a short walk down a hill a bit of beautiful river acess. Thanks again Jason !
