Murray Bay Campground Reviews
This was my first time camping as an adult and we flew in from out of town. Campsites are hot commodities apparently and we couldn't reserve any a month out so we prayed we could get one of the FCFS spots. Thankfully we did at Murray Bay and it was well worth the 20 mile drive from town. Shane the camp host was so nice and gave us tips and suggestions since it was out first time tent camping. Campsites were spaced far enough apart, bathrooms very clean! This place will hold a special place in my heart and can't wait to be back!
Sep 16, 2020 · Alexis VillarenteVery nice campground with a great host. Be prepared to get your equipment dirty from 20+ miles dirt/gravel road.
Jun 13, 2024 · jesse williamsonQuiet campground that had nice quick access to the water. At the water was a bench and firepit. Would go back, but be warned it was 20 plus miles of Gravel road. High quality road but super, super dusty. Deer came right up to the campsite multiple times.
Jun 05, 2023 · Jack KempI stayed at this campground in Site #15 during the summer of 2019. Both the campground and the campsite were well-maintained and beautiful. The views were breathtaking, and the lake was easily accessible. The friendly hosts added to the positive experience. Despite the 45-60 minute drive from Hungry Horse, the stunning scenery and quick lake access made it worthwhile. Although daily drives to Glacier National Park were tiring, the overall trip was highly recommended, especially Site #15.
Aug 08, 2023 · BartWe had never been to Murray Bay before but we had a fabulous experience. The camp Host Jeffery was the best we had ever had. He kept the camp in perfect condition from the restrooms to the sites themselves. It was extremely tidy and he was so accommodating. The campsites are a great size but defiantly more geared toward trailers than tents. We were tent camping and thankfully got one of the more tent friendly sites (9) however the fire pit was on a slight hill so not friendly to chairs. The group site (15) was wonderful and has amazing views. Great pull thru parking and very level but no designated tent area so we had to set up in the driveway. Our party started at site 9&10 but when our reservation was done Jeffery offered us the group site to stay an extra day over the holiday weekend. The water access is wonderful, we have small kids and with so much level water front it was the perfect set up. We had a blast with kayaks and paddle boards and the rope swing. We highly recommend it and will be back!
