Mountaineer Campground Reviews
My family just stayed in a cabin this past week and we cannot wait to go back! Our cabin was spacious, fitting three in the loft, two on the bed and a table that converted to a full. Plenty of space. Clean bathroom and clean kitchen. Sparkling pool. River access and close to the park, gas stations, an IGA and more. The staff was kid and helpful.
Jul 01, 2025 · Jack BI was more than pleased with our stay at Mountaineer Campground. Halfway into our vacation, a member of my family had a medical emergency. The staff directed me to the nearest hospital since I was not familiar with the area. Several days later, Wendy even called to check on us. Due to our situation, friends had to come from out of state and get our camper for us. Our friends drove all night. Wendy allowed them to move the camper to another slot to get some much needed rest before traveling it back to our home. One, I'm thankful they had an extra slot, but two, she went above and beyond to make sure they could meet our needs and not put anymore stress on me than what already was there. Before the emergency, we spent 4 and a half good days enjoying the campground and being SO CLOSE to the entrance to the park and to Cades Cove. We fished each night in the river behind the campground and caught a good mess of rainbow trout. We rode bikes to town on the bike/walking trails. We hope to be back next year to finish our trip. The people that run the campground are GOOD PEOPLE. I am thankful this is where were.
May 30, 2025 · Janice CookWow! Such a beautiful place to stay with amazing hosts. The sites are nice and clean when you arrive. Our fire pit had also been cleaned out as well. We checked in after hours and the instructions on what to do were great. We moved sites once to get the spot we wanted and it was no issue at all. The bathrooms are kept very clean!
May 11, 2025 · Jake TylerNice little campground, some sites looked like they’d be comfortable and nice. But the site we got was so small for our family of 6 that we couldn’t even fit our truck, family tent and supplies. No trees on our site, barely any room to walk, and small fire pit. It was very close to other people’s tents on either side. This was our first time here, we were looking for somewhere with a little more space for the price paid.
May 25, 2025 · Hannah LongFirst time camping here and we had a great weekend. From the reservation to check in was perfect. Staff are very friendly and we had a river site and could hear the river all night. Great shade and very peaceful. Bathhouse was super clean. Defiantly will put this gem on the list to return to.
