Mountain Lake Campground and Cabins Reviews
The spot we had was a little on the open side. There weren't many trees in front of us but our spot and the one next to us had quite a few. The grounds are very clean and the area is very well kept. We had a couple golly washers during our 3-day stay, which is why some of the pictures look dark. I was really surprised at how quickly the land drained after a fairly torrential downpour.
Jun 15, 2025 · Jacob CarrollSolid 4/5 rating. Nice campground overall. Bathhouse was super clean and huge. Stayed in area 4 on the lake. It is great for solar powered vehicles as there isn't a single tree and the bright, blaring sun beats down on your panels all day. Had an initial issue with check in as the neighboring campers overtook our site, like literally used our firepit, parking, and picnic table despite having their own. Rude and inconsiderate people. Changed it quickly, which was great. It was beautiful being on the lake. However, be advised the marina next door closes at 11 pm. Be prepared to listen to boat generators and loud ass music till 11 pm. Called the marina to ask them to turn it down and were basically told to pound sand. They also leave the lights on all night, which killed the star gazing and overall mood. This place would be great for kids as they had tons of playgrounds. It is bike friendly too.
May 19, 2025 · ashleybrahoskyI don’t know for sure but I’m pretty sure this was a COE campground at some point in the past. Don’t mean this in a good or bad way, just an observation after staying at other COE campgrounds on the east coast. It’s very clear that the owners have done a ton of work over the past 20 years. Amenities are nice and there is every available type of camping here from RV to primitive hammock camping sites. Very few if any FHU (not sure if there’s any outside of the camp hosts) but dump stations are plentiful, each section has at least one. I wish the dog beach was actually accessible without a considerable hike. We couldn’t get to it so can’t comment on it. Took away one star for that. Bath houses are nice and clean. Verizon had 1 or 2 bars of LTE and 5G at site 242. Site was dead nuts level side to side but pitched up so I pretty much brought my jack all the way in to get level front to back. We enjoyed the putt putt course and ice cream shop.
Jun 11, 2025 · Rick GoodmanMountain Lake Campground is my favorite place to camp. The grounds are beautiful and always well maintained. Very spacious sites. I always stay in area 3. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. I’ve been camping there for six years and love it!
May 27, 2025 · Robin PolingWe stayed in section 4 by the lake. When I picked my spot online, that's not the spot we got. They assigned us another spot? Not sure, but it was fine because the picture of the spot from their website that I chose was very misleading, it made the spot look huge. The spot (450) was NOT HUGE. These lake sites were some of the smallest sites I've ever seen. Lakeview sure, but we couldn't even put out our awning in the front (no room) and had to go BEHIND our camper where the old picnic table was at to even have a fire. Our fire ring still had half burnt wood in it. Very very tight spots, and uncomfortable. Just in this section though.Unlikely we will stay again.
