Moraine Camplands offers a different kind of camping, one that fosters a more settled environment. Many of its residents are long-term or seasonal campers who have invested in their spots, creating a vibrant community feel. This can be a huge draw for those who prefer familiarity and the camaraderie of fellow outdoor enthusiasts. While some feedback indicates that initial interactions or visitor experiences might vary, the established community and access to impressive natural features remain key aspects of its appeal.
It’s important for prospective visitors to understand that Moraine Camplands operates as a private community, which influences its atmosphere and the services it prioritizes. If you're an RVer looking for a seasonal retreat, direct lake access (via nearby Moraine State Park), and a place where you can become part of a settled camping environment, this could be a promising destination for your next Pennsylvania outdoor adventure.

Moraine Camplands provides a set of services designed to support its long-term and seasonal residents, focusing on core utilities and community amenities.
- Individual Campsites: The camplands likely offer a variety of campsite types, primarily catering to RVs and trailers, given the nature of a private campland where members often own their lots. These typically include hookups for water and electric.
- Lake Access (via Moraine State Park): While not directly on the lake, the camplands provide convenient access to nearby public boat launches on Lake Arthur within Moraine State Park, allowing residents to enjoy boating, fishing, and other water sports.
- Swimming Pool: A notable feature is the swimming pool, which is a key amenity for recreation within the camplands. It's important to note that, as of recent reports, the pool may undergo renovations at times.
- Community-Oriented Environment: As a private campland with many long-term residents, the atmosphere fosters a sense of community among its members.
The unique appeal of Moraine Camplands lies in its blend of private community living and exceptional access to the natural splendor of Moraine State Park and Lake Arthur.
- Proximity to Moraine State Park: This is perhaps the biggest highlight. Residents have direct and easy access to a 16,725-acre state park, offering extensive opportunities for hiking, biking, nature observation, and especially water activities on Lake Arthur.
- Lake Arthur Access: For boaters and anglers, the convenience of being just a few miles from public boat launches on Lake Arthur is a major draw. The lake is known for fishing (northern pike, largemouth bass, channel catfish) and boating (up to 20hp motors allowed).
- Large Swimming Pool: The on-site pool serves as a central recreational spot for cooling off and socializing during warmer months. While it may undergo maintenance (as noted in past reviews), its presence is a valued amenity.
- Established Community: For those seeking a consistent camping experience with familiar faces, the presence of many "full-timers" creates a settled and potentially friendly environment.
- Quiet Atmosphere (Generally): While specific site conditions can vary, the overall sense is that the community strives to maintain a relatively quiet and respectful environment, especially compared to some transient campgrounds.
As a private camplands, Moraine Camplands often operates differently from public campgrounds regarding promotions. Sales and offers are typically tied to lot sales, membership fees, or seasonal rates rather than short-term camping discounts. Given its structure, direct public promotions for transient stays are less common.

Moraine Camplands Reviews
Stopped in to get information on lots for sale and becoming a member as I am looking at a few other campgrounds in the area. The girl working in the office was the rudest person I have ever encountered. I can only imagine if she is this rude at the front desk how horrible the rest of this place must be. Unfortunately I will mark this place off of my list. Too bad because the website makes it look really nice. Do better.
Apr 12, 2025 · Moon HowlersIt's OK. Trailers are on top of one another. Never anyone at the gate to help visitors. Lake is nice. Swimming pool is being redone this summer
May 16, 2025 · Anurse HThis is a members only leave that my family has been part of for almost 30 years now and a place I now take my kids to. There is a lot to do inside the camp grounds such as fishing, swimming in the lake or the pool and just walking around. The A frame has a store for common things as well as place to get cooked food which is very good. The 4th of July fireworks are always amazing and it's just a great family friendly place. They now have wifi but it's pretty bad when the camp has a lot of people but AT&T and T-Mobile have decent coverage and T-Mobile has their Ultra Capacity 5G deployed there and I was downloading at 500Mbps which is faster than my home wifi. Verizon does work but it's not very good. The location is also nice, Jennings Reserve is right next to the camp and Moraine is a short drive away and is a great state park. Slippery rock is also a short drive and Butler is not too far either. This is a great place to build family memories and I look forward to seeing my kids enjoy it and hopefully their kids some day.
