Moore Haven KOA Holiday Introduce
For Floridians seeking an ideal blend of outdoor adventure and comfortable amenities, Moore Haven KOA Holiday stands as a welcoming destination. Located on the periphery of the vast and iconic Lake Okeechobee, this campground offers a unique opportunity to experience the natural beauty of South Florida. As a professional content writer specializing in local business SEO, we aim to provide a clear, engaging, and factual overview of what makes Moore Haven KOA Holiday a compelling choice for residents across the Sunshine State.
Moore Haven KOA Holiday is part of the well-known KOA network, which typically signifies a standard of quality and a range of amenities designed to enhance the camping experience. While some past reviews mention challenges during summer months, such as mosquitoes and potential dampness in certain spots, it's crucial to consider seasonal variations in Florida and the specific timing of visits. Reviews from February, for instance, describe the experience as "great," highlighting the importance of choosing the right time of year for a more enjoyable stay. The mention of "employees being great" suggests a dedicated team, even if past management decisions might have been frustrating for some.
This campground is geared towards providing a comprehensive experience, often featuring more amenities than a traditional rustic campsite. It's particularly well-suited for RVers, but also offers tent sites and cabins. The presence of a heated pool, playground, and various recreational facilities indicates a commitment to family-friendly fun and relaxation. Despite some guests feeling there are "too many rules for a KOA," many policies, such as those regarding dog fences or screened tents, are often in place to ensure safety, maintain aesthetics, and prevent damage in a communal environment. Moore Haven KOA Holiday aims to be a comfortable base camp for exploring the unique ecosystem of Lake Okeechobee and the surrounding areas, making it a valuable asset for local Floridians.
Moore Haven KOA Holiday is conveniently situated at 17192 US-27, Moore Haven, FL 33471, USA. This location is particularly advantageous for Floridians, as US-27 is a major north-south artery running through the heart of the state. Its direct access from a primary highway ensures a straightforward and easy journey for campers traveling from various parts of Florida, including major metropolitan areas.
The campground’s proximity to Lake Okeechobee, Florida's largest freshwater lake, is a significant draw. While not directly on the lake, it offers easy access (approximately 6 miles to a boat ramp) for fishing, boating, and enjoying the vast aquatic landscape. Moore Haven, though a smaller community, provides basic amenities, and larger towns are within a reasonable driving distance for more extensive shopping or dining options, as noted by a reviewer mentioning Dollar General within a 30-minute drive.
The accessibility is further enhanced by its clear signage and well-maintained entrance from US-27. This ensures that even large RVs can easily navigate to and from the property. For Floridians, this means less time on the road and more time enjoying the numerous activities and relaxing atmosphere the campground and surrounding area offer. The strategic location also makes it a practical stopover for those traveling across the state or exploring the diverse regions of South Florida, from the Everglades to the coasts.

Moore Haven KOA Holiday Reviews
Stayed 7 days, would never recommend this place in the Summer. Wanted to leave after a few. We had a premium spot "as they call" Moldy concrete, no bbq or fire pit in our spot, as it should, had to use one at different spot. Dozens of Mosquitos, swampy.Employees where great but manager instead of putting us in different spot, kept us same swampy spot, important place was empty. We visited the place in February "2025" was great. Different Manager back then.
Jul 05, 2025 · Carlo RiberaOwner don't allow dog fences, no screened tents. Have a couple of small dogs that help protect them if they sneak out when entering or leaving the motorhome. We like sitting outside with our dogs without out being bite by mosquitoes. There are too many rules for a KOA CG... Dollar General only stores with in 30-minute drive. The camp store only has a couple cans of pop or ice cream bars.
Jan 02, 2024 · Dave HaskellOwner obviously doesn't care about this location as the electric all over the park has major issues, tons of power outages since I've been here I've been here a yr now if I had a truck to move my camper I would have been gone. On site manager is rude and disrespectful always she can't even keep employees because she doesn't respect them. And doesn't really chip in on the work that truly needs to be done she makes employees sit on golf carts outside all day on their shifts it got up to 105 some days last summer and an employee passed away because he had over hydrated sitting in the heat R.I.P. Gary the best employee that worked here. I do not recommend anymore than a night or two here. Laundry machines a majority of them are broke down...its been a yr... no atm or debit card reader for the change machine so you have to drive 5-10 miles to pull out cash just to do your laundry. So much more to list but you get the point would rate 0 stars but not an option.
Feb 03, 2025 · Mitch BoraIf you are looking for an absolutely wonderful experience at a KOA Near Lake Okeechobee. Moore Haven Florida KOA Is the place to go.The fantastic new management has made such a positive impact on the park. Teria, Michael, and Brian have such dedication to improving the grounds, planning special events, and excellent customer service clearly stands out. It's great that they're not only focusing RV'ers and campers but also engaging with the community through sponsorship and outreach. That level of commitment really makes a difference! They have great amenities, like a country store, clean bathrooms, game room, dog park, playground, and fishing ponds. This is trulya well rounded and enjoyable, peaceful KOA to stay at whether you are coming from across the country or looking for a satycation especially if you're a Florida native. They are located to both the east and west coast beaches like Palm Beach, Fort Myers, and a short drive to the Florida everglades.
Jun 10, 2025 · John FugateClean, well-kept campground with friendly staff. We liked that it is set in rural Florida amidst ranches and sugar cane farms, but only a half hour to groceries and shopping. No traffic issues. No crowds. Large sites. We'll be returning next winter from Michigan for our third year.
