Far from the summer heat of the valley, this campground offers a serene escape on the shores of its namesake lake at a breathtaking elevation of 10,400 feet. It is a place where the air is crisp, the water is cool, and the stars put on a show like no other. More than just a place to park your RV or pitch a tent, Mirror Lake Campground is an experience in itself, a chance to immerse yourself in one of the most beautiful and easily accessible high-mountain environments in the state. From its tranquil waters, perfect for non-motorized boating like kayaking and canoeing, to the well-maintained hiking trails that lead to even more stunning vistas, there is no shortage of activities. One of the most remarkable aspects of this location is its ability to feel both wild and accessible. It is a place where you can find solitude while still having the peace of mind that comes with a well-maintained campground. The high-elevation environment means that even in the height of summer, temperatures remain mild and pleasant, providing a much-needed break from the sweltering valley floor. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Pam was the camp host and basically saved me. The altitude gave me some serious chest pain, and Pam helped nurse me back to full working order. The campground was very clean because Pam and her helper raked the ground, cleaned the fire pit, and removed all debris. It was truly pristine! She checked on me every day and I was so grateful because I was camping alone. The bathrooms were well vented and clean. And overall the place was beautiful, which is a miracle given the amount of people that traffic that area every day. With all her hard work I don’t understand how people don’t tip her cash for each day they spend, like you would a housekeeper. She works so hard. She should be given at LEAST $5 per person in your group, per day. She does way more than a housekeeper and she does it all with very limited help. Thank you so much Pam, for my beautiful, peaceful, safe, and divine stay! I am forever grateful and hope I can return VERY soon!
August 11 · Shidasha HolmsteadIt was so peaceful and calm. We enjoyed the beautiful lake, the fishing was decent. It got a little cold, but was still enjoyable to be up in the mountains and see all the beauty. The stars were amazing. Kids of all ages can enjoy.
August 08 · Shanna CurleyThis is such a beautiful campground and location. Mirror lake has a trail that goes around the edge of the lake and it is absolutely beautiful to walk around. This lake is great for camping and fishing. Bald mountain towers over the lake and offers a majestic photo opportunity. If you hike up through the brush on the north side of the lake, you will come across these beautiful lily ponds. It definitely doesn’t disappoint. As far as the campground is concerned, it is great. The only downside is the bathrooms. They are vault toilets and aren’t very clean. When I was there the water wasn’t potable, but that isn’t normally the case.
July 18 · Benjamin GriffinPaul and Penney were great hosts and were very helpful and friendly. Bathrooms were clean and we never heard noise after quiet hours. The lake is very busy due to the proximity to nearby cities and the short season. The campgrounds are well maintained and sites have flat spots for tents, a table, and fire pit. I recommend this campground to anyone wanting to visit Mirror Lake.
September 09 · Tim ClarkRainy with low clouds, which made it more like driving into a heavenly atmosphere. The kids were having fun without their faces buried in their cellphones. Good day!
