Metzler Park Recreation Site Reviews
This is a pretty little county park, but the "Swimming Hole" is just a wading hole. It's fun for kids, but not deep enough for much actual swimming (in July). Still, the water is clean & warm. There's an extensive picnic area, playground, disc golf & volleyball court. And there were several campsites available midweek. We just came for the day. It's $9 for day use.
Jul 03, 2025 · Laurie ThompsonWe had an excellent experience camping at Metzler. Our space was secluded and shaded with some sun, which we loved because it was 90 degrees. The river was across from us and we could hear it's lovely sound. They had bathrooms with private showers and a play area for kids. However...I took away one star because:-There was no easy river access-No cell service (which might be a plus for some)-The nearest bathroom was about a half-mile from our spaceOverall, we loved the campground and will be returning in the future.
Jun 10, 2025 · Amber Morrison-KaiserWonderful spot to spend time by yourself or with family! I got into a fight with a smore (and lost) after setting up our tent in a spacious and relatively rock free area. They have clearly designated camp sites, recreational areas, and various hiking/biking trails to enjoy.
Jun 10, 2025 · Mayson AndersonOne of the best places to camp in Northwest Oregon! Truly a hidden hidden gem. I was reluctant to post because I don't want a bunch of people to find out about it but it's the perfect family camping spot but also great for day visits!
Jul 27, 2024 · Ian GarrettWe had so much fun! My husband played disc golf while I pushed the stroller with the babies and the dogs were able to tag along. It was perfect fun for everyone! My husband said that the course was the perfect amount of challenging! I felt as if we were in the woods, walking through campsites and it was awesome! My only complaint is that there were no bathrooms open. Not ideal. I did have a playground open for older children. But the bathrooms weren't open there either.
