Meadows Campground Reviews
Reminded us a lot of our favorite campground back home. Little piece of heaven. Saw humming birds in our campsite as soon as we arrived, a bull moose later in the evening during a lovely hike then watched bats fly above while we roasted marshmallows before bed. There is noise from the highway but didn't bother us. And mosquito were heavy but we were 110% come again if ever back in the area.
Aug 06, 2024 · Amy UthmanMeadows Campground as of today-June 16, 2025- is still closed due to snow. This will change soon, so please post an update when you know it has been officially opened. There is another forest service campground, Dumont Lake, about 5 miles east on 40 that IS open ($26), it opened yesterday.
Jun 18, 2025 · Ro MoNot the greatest of forest campgrounds. We've stayed at tons of them, and this is not the finest. Road in is filled with large water filled pot holes as well within the campground as well. This place needs some work. Look at the sign in board out front and they are proposing to raise the rates to $26 a night. Ridiculous. It was close to Steamboat which is why we did enjoy it. The loop to the right is all first come first serve so go there if you don't have a reservation.
Sep 11, 2023 · Todd In-MXVery pretty but road noise does suck.Camp host friendly but ran a loud generator.
Sep 18, 2024 · Scott FirstWe had a horrible experience. We went with our kids to camp for the weekend but left after the first night. There was loud road noise all night, horrible mosquitos and the POS huge trailer next to us ran 2 loud generators constantly. The campground allows generators from 6 am until 10 pm. We could barely hear each other talk.
