- Standardized Rates: The campground maintains published rates for various site types (e.g., 30 amp, 50 amp with water) and seasons. These rates are generally competitive for the amenities and location provided.
- Online Reservations: Campsites can be reserved up to 12 months in advance online through the West Virginia State Parks website or by phone, ensuring a guaranteed spot, especially during peak times. There's often a two-night minimum stay on weekends (Friday and Saturday).
- State Park System-Wide Deals: Periodically, West Virginia State Parks may announce broader promotions that apply to various lodges and campgrounds across the state. For example, "Major Midweek Markdown" deals have been offered for lodge and select cabin stays, and it's worth checking the official WV State Parks website for any current camping-specific promotions.
- Value for Park Access: The primary "offer" is the inherent value of staying within Coopers Rock State Forest, which provides free access to all the park's extensive trails, overlooks, and recreational opportunities that would otherwise require a separate day-use fee.
While direct coupon codes for McCollum Campground are not publicly advertised, checking the official West Virginia State Parks website or calling their central reservation line (800-225-5982) is the best way to inquire about any current deals or best available rates for your desired stay.

McCollum Campground Reviews
Great campgrounds and location! Amenities include bath/shower house. Laundry room with dish sink that has garage disposal. Electric on site and water pump. Not to mention gorgeous hiking trails with overlooks. Will definitely visit again!
Oct 06, 2024 · Ashley RestuccioQe stayed here 4 nights in our Super C motorhome, Jack the camp host was friendly and helpful and his wife was also so nice to deal with on the office. Bathhouse was clean, old but I used it to shower and have. O complaints!! Hike is the area we're great as well!
Jul 18, 2024 · Gary CivalierThe camp sites are narrow, even the handicap spots. The sites also seemed to be almost backwards compared to the road path, so backing in with a bigger camper (we have a 33') was very difficult and impossible in most of the sites. This campsite is not setup for bigger trailers or RVs. Most of the lots had tree coverage with lots of walkable trails near the camp. There is a dump site at the end/entrance to the camping area. There is construction being done, so hopefully they will be adding some bigger sites and pull thru-s. They only offer electric but there is a small bath house by the handicap sites and general store. The area was beautiful and not far from the lake.
Jun 07, 2024 · Laura LeslieFour of us stayed here this weekend with three dogs and overall it was a great experience. The facilities were clean and not crowded, the staff were friendly, and it appeared to be well managed. My only complaint was that it wasn't ideal if you were tent camping for two reasons: 1. There was a pretty steep hill between where we parked and where the picnic table/fire pit was located and where we had room to set up our tents. Since it rained, getting to and from the tents from the picnic table was extra challenging, especially with dogs on leashes in tow. 2. The ground where we set up the tents was uneven and so we were sliding downhill in our sleeping bags all night. Otherwise, it was great and I recommend it, especially if you have a camper!Edit: We stayed at site 11. There were other sites that were a bit flatter.
May 15, 2023 · Miranda MOverall. A nice campground. If you’re going with a camper or RV some of the spots are angled to road poorly so backing in can be tricky. Consider looking at the map of the campground so you know what you’re getting into. All sites have electric hookups and some have water as well. A dump station is located at the entrance.
