Mark Twain State Park Campground Reviews
Sites are large, long and level. Electricity only, but water spigots are plentiful. Only disappointment was that the picnic table was behind the RV rather than to the side. There are shower houses in the Puma Loop and Badger Loop, old but clean. Laundry in the shower house by Badger Loop. Camp hosts here do a great job. Lots of shade. Nice walking trails. Paris 11 miles away with a small but well stocked grocery store, Perry 7 miles away with a smaller store with the essentials.
Aug 26, 2024 · JoAnne OwensI decided to take a couple of days to relax, so this stop was a bit impromptu. My visit was about exploring Mark Twain State Park and scope it out for future visits along the way. I went to the shrine that held the home where Mark Twain was born. Mark Twain Lake is big and has several bridges to cross, and many pelicans resided there. I saw several century old cabins in the town of Florida, Missouri. Also spent an hour or so at the memorial shrine. The museum was worth the visit to learn more about this American writer. The park was well maintained and clean. Campgrounds were easy to get to with our motorhome. I definitely would swing by again and stay longer if I'm nearby. It was a relaxing visit and a nice stopping point on my way from Colorado to Ohio.
Oct 06, 2024 · Mike SmithBeach is quite far away from the campgrounds. It is a lake beach with gravel and mud not sand. They had a lot of campsites with tree coverage which helps in the heat.
Jul 05, 2024 · Erin KusterVery nice cabins and campsites. Cleanest park shower/bathroom I've ever seen.
Oct 02, 2024 · Derek AlwoodVery peaceful weekend camping 🙂
