Do not stay here!!!! The owners are beyond rude. They don’t want to be here. Steve would rather drink beer than do anything around the resort. It's an inconvenience to take care of his campers. They have two bath houses, but don't open them up, because either they are too lazy to clean them and/or to cheap buy toilet paper!!! The seasonal renters pretty much run and maintain this place. They used to have summer help run the resort (a young couple and then Pati's son). They were great. The previous owners were phenomenal. There is a reason the resort is for sale and has been for several years. 1 star is too much for this place. Do not ruin your vacation by staying here. - Fred

Phone: (218) 335-6589

Mobile Phone: +1 218-335-6589

Prospective guests are strongly encouraged to utilize these contact numbers for direct communication with the resort management. Given the mixed reviews regarding service and maintenance, it would be prudent to call ahead, discuss current conditions, and clarify any concerns before making a booking. Inquiring about the operational status of all advertised amenities, particularly the bathhouses, would be advisable. This direct line of communication will help ensure that expectations align with the current reality of the resort and its offerings, facilitating a more informed decision for your Minnesota lake getaway.

Marclay Point Resort presents a compelling, albeit complex, suitability for Minnesota locals, primarily due to its unparalleled location on Cass Lake. For many Minnesotans, spending time on a large, vibrant lake like Cass Lake is the quintessential summer experience, and the resort’s private point with 2000 feet of lakeshore, two sandy beaches, and protected harbors for over 80 boats directly addresses this desire. The ability to see the water from "every site" and the flat terrain for easy access are significant advantages for RVers and campers who prioritize lakeside views and convenience.

For those primarily interested in fishing, the resort’s location on Cass Lake, renowned for its diverse fish populations (walleye, northern pike, perch, muskie), is ideal. The availability of boat, motor, and pontoon rentals, along with gas and bait on-site, makes it a highly convenient base for serious anglers and casual fishing enthusiasts alike. The option of seasonal RV sites also caters to a segment of the local population who seek a long-term summer "cabin" experience without the commitment of property ownership, fostering a sense of community among repeat visitors.

However, it is crucial for Minnesota locals to consider the mixed customer experiences, particularly the highly negative review concerning owner rudeness and maintenance of facilities like bathhouses. While the physical location and advertised amenities are highly appealing, the quality of service and upkeep can significantly impact a vacation. Therefore, Marclay Point Resort is most suitable for locals who prioritize a prime lakeside location and access to fishing/boating, are comfortable with potentially minimal direct interaction with management, and perhaps have a preference for self-sufficiency or rely more on their RV's amenities rather than communal facilities. For those who value impeccable customer service and fully operational, well-maintained shared amenities, it would be essential to conduct thorough pre-booking inquiries to ensure a positive experience aligns with their expectations, given the contrasting feedback from previous visitors.
