Lower Pine Grove Campground Reviews
We’ve camped here a few times. Read some other reviews regarding the camp host Albert, we love him. He does run a tight ship ( which keeps the riff raff down and actually makes a very nice camping experience) but as long as you follow the rules which are clearly posted you won’t have any issues. He’s very knowledgeable about the area and advised us on which site were “better” ( they are all pretty good), let us know the bear situation etc. This is a nice quiet campground and Albert keeps it very clean. We really appreciated him. We will definitely be back!
Jul 21, 2024 · Wendy DahlBeen camping here 3 times and have had a GR8 experience every time. The camp host Albert is very friendly and always has the low down about the fishing and wildlife in the area. The roaring creek is soothing to listen to while you fall asleep. The bathrooms are always clean and the flushing toilets are a plus. There are tons of hiking trails including 1 right next to the campground that can take you up to Rock Creek Lake or down to the East Fork campground. Its Also convenient that they have fire wood available on site.
Sep 05, 2023 · Jon MunsellThe location is great. Very small number of spots so easy to fill up. One spot (#5) is super narrow and you'll basically be staring at others the full time. Perfect if you have friends and you get neighboring spots. Also one spot is just inside a circle round. Very odd. Clean bathrooms. Host was nice but had a bright blue LED light string on all night 2 of the nights were there. So that wasn't what I desired for being out in nature. Perfect location for hiking
Sep 04, 2023 · Ben FalterWe were lucky enough to find a spot close to the river which was amazing! The campground was quite and clean. The bathrooms have working toilets and sink with cold water, they were also fairly clean. We stayed for 4 days and 3 of those days we had a bear in our camp. Not aggressive, just hungry for snacks and garbage. Lots of great hikes to alpine lakes and good fishing. My only complaint was the camp host, he was actually more like the camp bully. I've done my share of camping and I have never experienced a host that was as rude as this host was. Outside of that I would definitely go back!
Aug 24, 2020 · Brandi LittleWe arrived to Rock Creek Lake and began looking for campgrounds from the top down. We got lucky and landed the last spot at Pine Grove. We didn't realize how breathtaking the campground was until we woke up the next morning. We were less than 100 fee away from Rock Creek and we heard the creek roaring all night. The campground has two flush toilets and a sink, which was a great surprise.
