Had a phenomenal weekend camping here. Already keeping my eyes peeled to make our way back here. The campground is large and well managed. Campsites were large, somewhat close to eachother but it was never an issue. There is are bathrooms throughout the campground and I thought ours was super clean!Quickkkkk walk down to the falls. It was no problem to walk back to the site to grab something. Really hope to come back sooner than later - Marshal Turner

Location and Accessibility

Lower Falls Campground is conveniently located at Cougar, WA, USA, specifically along the Lewis River within the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. For Washington residents, accessing this serene getaway is a scenic journey. From Portland or Seattle, the route typically involves taking I-5 to Exit 21 for WA-503 East towards Woodland/Cougar. WA-503 then transforms into Forest Road 90. Campers will turn right at the Pine Creek Visitor Center and continue on FR 90; the campground entrance will be on the right-hand side just past mile marker 28. Its location at an elevation of 1,300 feet, surrounded by large evergreen trees and situated right off the Lewis River, provides a sense of seclusion and immersion in nature. The campground's proximity to other significant waterfalls like Curly Creek Falls, Big Creek Falls, and Middle Falls, all within 15 minutes, further enhances its appeal as a prime destination for waterfall enthusiasts and hikers alike. It’s also close to the Lewis River Horse Camp, and about an hour and 20 minutes north of Carson, making it a well-positioned hub for exploring this beautiful part of Washington.
