We understand that finding the right spot for your RV or tent is crucial for a memorable trip, and we aim to provide a convenient and accessible location for your Northern Michigan adventure.
While some past guests have noted that certain sites can be quite close-knit, leading to a sense of limited privacy, we believe this can also foster a unique community atmosphere. As one reviewer mentioned, even with close quarters, neighbors can be "actually very pleasant and not extremely loud." Our focus at Loons Point RV Park and Campground is to offer a functional and well-located base from which to experience the natural beauty and local attractions of the Cedarville area. We understand that individual preferences for campsite space vary, and we encourage prospective visitors to consider their needs for personal space when booking. Our goal is to provide a practical solution for your stay in this sought-after region, allowing you to maximize your time exploring the stunning Les Cheneaux Islands, rather than focusing on the journey.
Loons Point RV Park and Campground is conveniently located at 1332 E M 134, Cedarville, MI 49719, USA. This prime address places our park directly on M-134, a scenic route that winds through the heart of the Les Cheneaux Islands area in Michigan's Eastern Upper Peninsula. For us Michiganders, this location is key to accessing some of the most picturesque and serene boating, fishing, and island-hopping experiences our state has to offer. Cedarville itself is a charming community, embodying the quiet, rustic appeal of the U.P.
The accessibility of Loons Point RV Park and Campground is a significant advantage. M-134 provides straightforward access from both the Mackinac Bridge to the south and Sault Ste. Marie to the east, making it a convenient stop for travelers exploring the entire Upper Peninsula. Once at the park, you are mere moments away from the core attractions of Cedarville. This includes marinas for launching boats to explore the 36 Les Cheneaux Islands, local shops offering unique crafts and supplies, and a variety of dining options ranging from casual eateries to more formal restaurants. Furthermore, the surrounding area offers ample opportunities for kayaking, fishing, hiking, and wildlife viewing. Nearby towns like Hessel also contribute to the local charm, hosting popular events like the Les Cheneaux Islands Antique Wooden Boat Show. Despite any comments on site spacing, the location itself is invaluable, providing campers with an ideal base to immerse themselves in the unique maritime culture and natural beauty that defines the Les Cheneaux region, ensuring that your time is spent enjoying the destination, not navigating complex routes.
Loons Point RV Park and Campground aims to provide the essential services needed for a comfortable and convenient stay, allowing campers to focus on enjoying the beauty of the Les Cheneaux Islands. While specific detailed amenities should always be confirmed upon booking, most well-established RV parks offer a foundational set of services.
- Full Hookup RV Sites: Typically, RV parks provide sites with water, electric (various amp services such as 30 or 50 amp), and sewer connections for maximum convenience. This is essential for modern RV travelers.
- Restroom Facilities: Access to clean and maintained restroom facilities is a standard offering at campgrounds, providing a necessary convenience for all campers.
- Shower Facilities: While not always guaranteed, many RV parks offer shower facilities, allowing campers to refresh during their stay.
- On-Site Management/Staff: The presence of on-site management or staff ensures that there is assistance available for check-in, questions, and any immediate needs that may arise during your stay.
- Pet-Friendly Policy: Many campgrounds, especially those catering to travelers, are pet-friendly, welcoming well-behaved animals, though specific rules often apply.
- Waste Disposal: Convenient access to trash receptacles and often recycling options is typically provided to maintain a clean park environment.

- Excellent Location for Les Cheneaux Exploration: The primary highlight is its prime location on M-134 in Cedarville, providing direct and easy access to the numerous islands, marinas, and charming towns that make up the Les Cheneaux Islands area. This is a significant advantage for boaters, kayakers, and those wishing to experience this unique archipelago.

Loons Point RV Park and Campground Reviews
Bring a can opener. The sites are so tight that when the neighbors were outside they might as well be inside our coach. On the plus side they weee actually very pleasant and not extremely loud but when they are sitting within 2 feet of your coach you can hear everything. If it weren’t for that I would give them much higher scores. If you value privacy and reasonable space pass on by as those sites were limited.
Jul 01, 2025 · Jeff SlocumbThe most cramped RV park we have ever stayed at. The RV sites are on top of each other with sewer hoses running in front of adjoining RV units. The sites were so narrow, awnings encroached on neighbors. Zero privacy and we felt uncomfortable lighting a fire due to the proximity of others. We paid for a premium waterfront site but forfeited our last night due to our complete disappointment and dissatisfaction. Never again.
Jun 30, 2025 · EdlogFirst time, reserved for next year. Beautiful spot! Extremely clean, well kept, helpful people! Separate dog beach. Clean bathroom stalls and showers (3). Laundry facilities if needed. 3 small clean and well equipped cabins to rent too if needed. Dock and slips well maintained. Potable water and dumping services, 30 amp and 50 amp.
Aug 11, 2024 · Amy Janel Haaseth-Massey (AJ)Really nice campground. The views of the water are awesome. The utility pedestal for some sites, including site 30, the one I was in, was far away from where you have to park your trailer. We made it work. The second day, the campground squeezed a fifth wheel next to us. Their slide was so close we couldn't put our awning all the way. Again, we were happy to make it work. Next time, I will just pay $5 more a night for a waterfront site.
Jun 26, 2024 · Jeff FellowsI spent the week tent camping in a rustic site that was VERY well kept up, VERY private, picturesque, near the bath- house, a short walk to the dock and shore. It was lovely and I plan to camp there again. The three employees I interacted with were kind, personable, clear, friendly and professional. Highly recommend! (Also very affordable!)
