Location is great, just up the mountain from all the major attractions!Everyone I dealt with was fantastic, helpful, and kind.The cabin was nice and had a good amount of room outside. We had cabin #5 and it was just a stones throw from the bathrooms/clubhouse/store.Bathrooms and showers are available 24/7. Shower water will get HOT, which is nice. Bathrooms could use a little updating, but we still felt comfortable. Showers have a curtain and a bathroom style door so privacy was good.The pool was not available when we were there, but they were out there working on opening it up. Still pretty early in the season to expect everything to be open.I'd say it's 420 friendly ish.. I did smell some but nothing bad. Just be respectful of neighbors and wait until kids are in bed. It is Colorado after all.Overall a really peaceful and enjoyable experience. We will definitely be back!

Lone Duck Campground is an absolute gem! It is tucked away from the highway however it is easy to forget that. Everywhere there are thoughtful details. After a terrible experience with wanting to get a hotel and somehow booking the sketchiest and creepiest one (lies from what was posted on Travelocity) we discovered this gem! We treated ourselves to a cabin (they warn and describe what it is and a perfect description). From the birds to the creek running, the trees swaying in the wind- Lone Duck is amazing. They have an office where you can buy firewood and ice! Included in your stay is access to hot and cold showers, bathrooms, coffee starting at 5:30, friendly staff, washing dish area with a sink, a water station to pump water if needed! Everything is perfectly detailed on their map. We will definitely be coming back to enjoy Lone Duck Campground! 🐥

Nice location, but be careful what spot they give you. If you can reserve a specific spot just make sure its not site 14. We basically had a parking spot for our Travel Trailer and that was it (it was depressing when we had to come back to camp. Basically stayed in the trailer the whole time) . The water was shared with the site behind (that we were parked a foot away from). Also they like to shut the water off to the sites when they fill the pool, just pray its not in the middle of rinsing the shampoo out of your hair. If you don't mind driving a little further go up into Woodland Park.

We had cabin #7 booked for 3 nights at Lone Duck. It was a great home base and very quick access to Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak and Manitou Springs. The cabin was as described and clean. However, right when we arrived we realized our cabin was very close to all the other sites. The next cabin (and their fire ring) was directly next to us, only 15ft away with zero privacy in between. There was then a hill only 15-20ft from the front of our cabin which lead directly down into someone’s tent site. There was no shrubbery or anything separating the sites on this side of the campground. We just didn’t feel secluded at all and our views included a fence that went around the adjacent property, piles of junk/broken tables/wood and a porter potty right behind us. We knew this was not what we’d expected right away and was not very conducive with two small kids who kept wandering into the next cabin site and having their balls roll down the hill into the tent site. We immediately attempted to cancel our 3rd night and thought maybe we could since it was 2 days out, however we were told we couldn’t cancel for a refund due to the cabin not being able to be rented out for the 1 night. In the end, we left anyways and decided the refund wasn’t worth it. The campground had a nice pool and park our kids enjoyed and perhaps our experience would’ve been different in another area of the campground that wasn’t so close together but this was just not the experience we were hoping for. Make sure to look at the map and pick appropriately if you desire any privacy.

Camp sites were really close together. Good for a single night of camping, but I wouldn’t camp more than one night there. It was nice to have the creek behind us with running water, but no trespassing signs everywhere and houses are right behind you. Feels like you’re camping in someone’s backyard. Front desk staff is nice and the bathrooms are clean.
