Lodgepole Campground boasts an excellent location on Georgetown Lake, Montana, with its address precisely at 26919 MT-1, Anaconda, MT 59711, USA. This places it directly across Highway 1 from the lake, offering convenient access to one of Montana's most popular recreational waters. The campground is nestled within the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest, the largest national forest in our state, ensuring a truly immersive natural experience surrounded by mature lodgepole pines.
Accessibility to Lodgepole Campground is generally straightforward due to its location right off Montana Highway 1. For those traveling from Philipsburg, it's approximately 10.75 miles south on the highway. While the main access is convenient, it’s important for campers to be aware of the internal layout of the campground. Some reviews indicate that many sites have their picnic tables and fire rings situated either uphill or downhill from the parking area. This can present challenges for individuals with mobility issues, as the terrain within the campground might not be entirely level at every site. It's advisable for those with mobility concerns to inquire about specific site conditions when making reservations or to choose sites that appear to have more level access if arriving on a first-come, first-served basis.
Despite these potential variations in terrain, the campground roads are generally paved, making navigation for RVs and trailers manageable. The maximum recommended trailer length for Lodgepole Campground is 32 feet, accommodating a wide range of camping vehicles. The proximity to Georgetown Lake is a significant advantage, with Red Bridge Boat Launch being within walking distance. This allows campers to easily access the lake for boating and fishing activities without having to drive far. The combination of a scenic forest setting and easy lake access makes Lodgepole Campground a highly desirable spot for many Montana outdoor enthusiasts.

Lodgepole Campground (On Georgetown Lake, Montana) Reviews
Pics of this place don't show enough information. Many of the sites have their tables and fire rings either up or down from the parking area, and you can't tell that from the website. Not great for folks with mobility issues. Also, the campground host was MIA the whole time we were there. It was, however, clean, quiet, and not crowded, but we were there in the middle of the week.
Jun 25, 2025 · Michele KonechnyGorgeous views. Bald eagles flew over our heads while we were there. The sun was shining but the breeze was perfect to keep us all comfortable on this beginning of June day.Very clean restroom. Two picnic tables. Boat ramp.Didn't catch any fish while bank fishing but the people on boats were.I could come here every day. Breathtakingly beautiful place.
Jun 08, 2024 · Shelby AThis is a large campground that was clean. It is across the highway from Georgetown Lake. The host is nice and helpful. The bathrooms were clean and the camp sites were well taken care of. There were quite a few first come first serve sites.
Aug 27, 2022 · Jean RobinsonGreat campground, well maintained sites, and clean restroom. Only downside is that while you are close to the lake there is a large road in between which has decent noise and limits the water access.
Aug 11, 2022 · Amanda AdcockCampground is well kept, clean, and easy to navigate. Lake access doesn't exist within the campground but a boat launch day use area is directly across the main highway. Very noisy from the road traffic, almost constant day and night.
