Lodgepole Campground

Naches, WA 98937, USA

4.0
Good campground. I stayed in site ,006 which had sufficient privacy. Lot of tree around. Ground was flat to lay down the tent. There was a fire pit with metal grate on top for grilling but sadly there was fire banPit toilets were suprisingly clean ( for a pit toilet) though a bit smelly on couple occasions...there is a drinking water spigot near by. You can walk to the river which was pretty shallow so we could not fish there. Lots of mosquitoes...take bug spray.. - Yogesh Kakodkar

Lodgepole Campground Introduce

Nestled amidst the majestic old-growth forest of Washington's Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, Lodgepole Campground offers a truly refreshing escape for those seeking to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. This isn't just another campsite; it's a carefully maintained haven where the sounds of the American River replace city noise, and the towering lodgepole pines provide a sense of peace and privacy. For Washingtonians looking to disconnect and rejuvenate, Lodgepole Campground provides a quintessential outdoor experience, combining rustic charm with thoughtful amenities and a welcoming atmosphere, largely thanks to its dedicated camp hosts.

Visitors consistently praise Lodgepole Campground for its tranquil environment and the exceptional efforts of its staff. Reviews frequently highlight the "spacious, private sites with lots of understory," ensuring campers have ample room to spread out and enjoy their surroundings. The clean facilities, including "surprisingly clean (for a pit toilet)" vault toilets, and the availability of drinking water spigots, underscore the commitment to guest comfort. Perhaps the most celebrated aspect, however, is the presence of "amazing" and "friendly, knowledgeable" camp hosts, such as Jason and Michelle, who are committed to keeping the place "pristine" and ensuring visitors have a positive experience. While fire bans can sometimes limit the quintessential campfire experience, the sheer beauty of the location, coupled with the diligent upkeep and warm reception, makes Lodgepole Campground a highly recommended destination for both seasoned campers and families alike, promising a return visit for many.

Lodgepole Campground is located in Naches, WA 98937, USA, deep within the scenic Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. Specifically, it can be found off Highway 410, near milepost 75.8. This places it in the eastern foothills of the Central Cascades, offering a gateway to a vast wilderness area while remaining accessible from major routes.

Accessibility to Lodgepole Campground is generally good, although visitors should be mindful of its forest setting. It is situated along the American River, which is a key geographical feature of the area. For those traveling from the north on Highway 410, it's important to note that mapping services like Apple Maps might incorrectly place the campground on the right; it is actually on the left side, and vigilance is needed as pre-signage might be limited until close to the entrance. If approaching from the south, there are typically two signs providing ample warning for the turn. The internal roads within the campground are paved, making navigation for both tents and RVs (including larger travel trailers) relatively smooth, though larger rigs should be mindful of corners and turns. While nestled in nature, it's approximately an hour and 40 minutes east of South Hill, WA, and within a convenient distance to the eastern entrances of Mount Rainier National Park, such as Ohanapecosh, White River, and Sunrise areas, adding to its appeal as a basecamp for exploring iconic Washington landmarks.

  • Potable Water Spigots: Drinking water is available from spigots located near campsites. It's important to note these are typically designed for filling water jugs and vessels rather than connecting hoses for RV tank fills.

  • On-Site Camp Hosts: One of the most highly praised services is the presence of dedicated, friendly, and knowledgeable camp hosts (like Jason and Michelle) who work hard to maintain the campground, assist campers, and provide local information.
