★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The campsites here felt more private than other sites I've been at in National parks! Not to mention the beautiful views of the lake. What I loved most was the check-in woman/campground manager (maybe not her title, but the women who lives at the front of the grounds) who would drive around in her golf cart to check in on everyone. She's the sweetest! She would check in on things a few times a day, and sometimes would take her pup for a ride. It made me feel safer. Thanks for a great and beautiful stay! P.S. the bathrooms were clean as well.
July 05 · Cassie PuttThe Lizard Creek campground was great! The campground is managed by the nearby Signal Mountain Lodge. The campground does NOT offer shower or laundry facilities but these facilities can be found ~15 mins away. It was very convenient to stay in the park and be close to the hiking areas. Our site was directly on the water and was a no-generator zone. (There is also a car camping zone that allows generators). The bathroom facilities had muddy floors from the rain but were extremely clean other than that and had running water and soap. The gentleman that checked us in was nice and respectful. There are bear boxes provided or you can keep your food in the car. The sites were reasonably sized but very close together, there is a lot of trees for privacy though! There are also a lot of bear-proof dumpsters. Did not encounter any wildlife other than ground squirrels and ducks on the lake. I recommend staying here. The only downside is that the site was expensive. It was 50$ after taxes and fees, where a comparable site in Yellowstone was 20$. I guess that is what you pay for running water. This site did have 2-3 bars of cellular service through Verizon continuously throughout our time there.
July 09 · Hailey “Beck” TaylorThe surrounding area is beautiful, so I’m giving 2 stars. The camp host was extremely inappropriate and hostile making us feel uncomfortable throughout our stay. Even the park ranger we spoke to mentioned they’ve had multiple complaints about him. Campsites are also packed in very close together. It’s okay if you’re just staying one night, but I wouldn’t come back.
June 16 · emma kanePros: Very small/intimate, quiet, lakeshore sites offer the best privacy, bathrooms have flush toiletsCons: Farther drive to get to destinations— but it’s worth it! No shower or laundry facilities — could be an issue for some. Our 5 day stay at Lizard Creek was so delightful! Our campsite was very private; couldn’t see it from the road, everyone camping there was quiet and respectful, it felt like you had the place to yourself. The views are gorgeous. Listening to the water hit the shore is so soothing. Bears tend to visit the campground every day but they aren’t a bother. Follow all the rules for food storage and campsite cleanliness! We spent a few days camping in Yellowstone at Canyon Village where you are stacked like cordwood with zero privacy, having to listen to generators running, dogs barking, kids screaming/crying. It sucked! We cannot wait to camp at Lizard Creek again someday!
August 23 · Laura A.Substantially north of most of the fanfare of the Tetons this off the beaten path campground provides a much more rustic setting. There are no showers on site no laundry and the bathroom. Cleanliness leaves a little bit to be desired. However, seeing wildlife is your thing, we did have a bear roaming the campground when I was there, and there were plenty of birds and other creatures to enjoy.
