It's important for prospective campers to be aware of feedback regarding the cleanliness of facilities, as some past reviews have mentioned issues with restrooms and showers. However, the Nebraska Game & Parks Commission is continuously working to maintain and improve its facilities, and user experiences can vary. Many other reviews speak to friendly staff and a safe environment, suggesting that the overall experience at Mahoney, including Little Creek Campground, remains a positive one for the majority of visitors.
Despite any minor drawbacks in facility upkeep reported by a few individuals, the overwhelming sentiment from many campers is that Little Creek Campground provides an excellent home base for enjoying all the attractions of Eugene T. Mahoney State Park. Its strategic location between Nebraska's two largest cities, Lincoln and Omaha, makes it an easily accessible escape for a vast number of local residents, solidifying its status as a premier destination for family fun and outdoor recreation in the state.

It is one of two main campgrounds, offering 99 sites that can accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs up to 56 feet in length. Little Creek Campground Reviews
On the outside it's a beautiful park and campground. However.... The facilities at this campground were gross. Women's room had slimy floors, hair in showers and sink, who knows when the last time the inside of the toilet stalls were cleaned, and it smells like pee. The mens side had urine on the walls and fixtures at the urinals, hair and trash in the showers, peeling paint, and the toilet stalls were gross. It's not the place we would revisit.
Jun 24, 2025 · Cari SpradlinMahoney is a bit overrated. The spots for camping in an RV are smaller than they should be and the ones we had were on such a hill there wasn't really a good spot for a fire pit. The wildlife was cool but the play equipment seemed run down and the mulch areas were overgrown. Would be ok place to camp with just a little bit of work.
Aug 27, 2018 · Matthew GallNear I80 so you hear highway noise. Pads are paved and level. Most sites sloped with a few severely. Cars camping in grass because pads are not long. Good shade trees. Sites closer than most state campgrounds so it feels crowded. Lots of noisy dogs.
May 08, 2021 · Samuel ShryockPretty packed. Geared toward campers instead of tents. Not many trees in the middle of the loop. Worst of all is you can still hear the interstate traffic at night... For 25 a night, it's priced for a quick trip for families... I'd probably just head somewhere off the beaten path next time.
