For a unique, privately-owned campground like Little Bear Island, specific, widely advertised promotions or "special offers" in the traditional retail sense are less common than with larger chain campgrounds or state parks. However, based on the provided information and common practices, potential value and booking considerations for Kentucky locals include:
Extended Stay Rates: The campground explicitly mentions "the convenience of booking campsites for extended periods at a fraction of the daily rate." This is a significant ongoing "promotion" for those looking to spend a week, a month, or even a season at the campground, offering considerable savings compared to nightly rates.
Direct Booking Benefits: Often, smaller campgrounds prefer and may offer better rates or flexibility for direct bookings (via phone call) rather than through third-party platforms, as it saves them commission fees. Always inquire when calling.
Off-Season Opportunities: While not a discount per se, visiting during the shoulder seasons (e.g., late spring or early fall) or even quieter weekdays can offer a more peaceful experience and potentially better availability.
Friendly Host Flexibility: Reviews highlight the "great hosts." In some cases, friendly private campground hosts might offer minor courtesies or flexibility (e.g., late checkout if the site isn't booked) that function as a form of added value, though this is never guaranteed and depends on availability and their discretion.
To get the most accurate information on current pricing, extended stay options, or any other potential benefits for your visit, it is highly recommended to directly contact Little Bear Island Campground using the provided phone number. Little Bear Island Campground Reviews
I had a wonderful time here. Hosts are great. I'd love to spend a lazy weekend here just camping and hanging out. Unfortunately this time around it was just a place to sleep. The location is perfect. If you forgot anything Russell and Ashland are not far.Our site was beautiful. We had water abs a 50amp connection. Dump site convenient on our way out.The land can get wet and hold water, especially the closer spots to the river, so be mindful. It was raining hard the days prior to arrival, but stopped the day we set camp. By the next day I rode my MC out of the grounds. There were still some slick spots but if you are mindful is fine.We will definitely be back. And our offer to help out around the grounds still stands!
Jul 08, 2021 · Eric KreitzerWe got to the campground and nobody was around. I started backing into the site, 2nd site as you get onto the island, and I got stuck. I have a 43' Deisel Pusher with 2 rear axels. A little over 46,000 lbs. I called the manager and he said he was 20 min. Away. He got there about an hour later but did give me a # for a tow company. I called them and they were about 30 min. Away. When the driver showed up he said they should have told me about big rigs getting stuck there. A coach was pulled out the day before and a few others the week before. The manager did refund my money as I told him I would not be staying there. It took a few hours to get pulled out and it was expensive. FMCA would not cover it. We visited Little Bear Island Campground, no overnight stay.
Nov 10, 2021 · Richard BrowningThis isn't a campground, it's a field behind someone's house. When we showed up, it was wet and muddy. I incorrectly assumed the manager knew the land that he was looking after. I followed his driving instructions and got my Class A diesel pusher stuck in the wet clay. Fortunately, they had an old tractor and pulled me out after about an hour. We covered our motorhome and tow vehicle with mud and left. If you have a small trailer and there has been a prolonged drought, this would be OK, otherwise, AVOID THIS PLACE!
Oct 28, 2021 · charlie sageAfter a long search for a campground for my husband working in the area, Danny was very accommodating and made the reservation process painless. He went above and beyond what any campground manager has done. We would highly recommend this campground for anyone in the area and hope to stay again very soon.
Nov 15, 2021 · Melissa ColwellI went to check it out a year ago. It was muddy on a dry day. Could get stuck easy, it's beside a home and no gravel, just grass to park on so I left.
