Lindenwood Campground is centrally located in Fargo, North Dakota, with its address at 1955 Roger Maris Dr, Fargo, ND 58103, USA. Its position is particularly advantageous for travelers, as it's conveniently situated just off I-94, Exit 351, making it an ideal stop for those embarking on longer road trips, such as heading north to cross into Canada.
One of the most appealing aspects of Lindenwood Campground's location is its picturesque setting right along the Red River, which forms the natural border between North Dakota and Minnesota. This riverside placement offers pleasant views and a serene atmosphere, despite being an "in-town" campground. While some visitors have noted that noise from the nearby highway can be audible, the beauty of being right on the river often outweighs this minor inconvenience.
Accessibility within the campground itself is generally good, with paved drives. However, it's worth noting that some RV sites, particularly in section B (the lower section along the river), are on a noticeable slope, which may require campers to bring leveling blocks for their RVs. Despite this, the overall ease of access from major routes and its proximity to city services like shops and restaurants makes Lindenwood Campground a practical and desirable choice for campers looking for urban convenience combined with a natural setting. Its direct access to bike trails further enhances its appeal for those who enjoy active recreation.
- RV Campsites with Hookups: The campground offers 47 RV sites, primarily back-in, equipped with both 30-amp and 50-amp electric hookups, as well as running water. Some sites might offer full hookups including sewer.
- Tent Camping: Designated areas are available for tent campers, providing a more traditional outdoor experience with access to shared facilities.
- Public Restrooms and Showers: Clean restrooms and hot showers are available, a highly appreciated amenity for all campers, especially those in tents or without private facilities in their RVs.

- Picnic Tables and Fire Pits: Each campsite generally comes with a picnic table and a fire pit, perfect for outdoor meals and evening campfires.
- Playground Facilities: The campground features two playground facilities, making it a family-friendly destination and providing entertainment for children.
- Bike and Kayak Rentals: Lindenwood Park offers bike rentals (including unique fun cycles and adaptive bikes) and kayak rentals, allowing campers to easily explore the extensive recreational trails and the Red River. Kayaks are rented on a first-come, first-serve basis.
- Concessions and Firewood: An information center often has concessions, visitor information brochures, and firewood for purchase. Note that outside firewood is usually prohibited to prevent the spread of tree diseases.
- City Wi-Fi: Free city Wi-Fi is generally available, allowing campers to stay connected.
- Stay Limitations: Campers are typically limited to no more than a 14-day stay within any 30-day period to ensure fair usage for all visitors.
- Scenic Red River Views: A significant highlight is the campground's location directly on the Red River, offering picturesque views and a serene backdrop for camping. Many sites, particularly in the lower section, provide direct river access and enjoyable scenery.
- Extensive Recreational Trails: Lindenwood Campground boasts perfect access to an impressive network of bike and walking trails that run right out of the campground. These trails wind along the river and through the park, ideal for cycling, walking, jogging, and even cross-country skiing in winter.
- Urban Accessibility with Nature: It offers a unique combination of being an "in-town" campground with convenient access to Fargo's amenities (shops, restaurants, city attractions) while still providing a genuine connection to nature along the river. This makes it great for short stays or as a base for exploring the city.
- Clean and Well-Maintained: Visitors frequently praise the campground for being clean and well-maintained overall, contributing to a pleasant and comfortable experience.
- Family-Friendly Amenities: The presence of two playgrounds makes it an appealing choice for families with children, offering dedicated spaces for kids to play and enjoy the outdoors.

Lindenwood Campground Reviews
Stayed here for a night on our way up to North Portal to cross into Canada. Clean campground overall, with some nice scenery right on the Red River, which runs along the border of North Dakota and Minnesota. Some of the RV sites are on a pretty steep grade, and getting level was a bit of a challenge. Not a deal breaker, but something to know going in. This is an in-town campground, so we expected some activity, but it was really busy. Lots of foot and bike traffic, vehicles cruising through, and people everywhere. That said, the place is well maintained, the river views are solid, and it works great for a night or maybe two. I wouldn’t want to hang out here for an extended stay, but as a quick stop, it did the job.
Jun 17, 2025 · Eli MiselRooms were a five because it was our RV. The campground is nice and clean. The electric and water are quite a distance from where you park and some of the sites are really hard to get level down on the lower section of the campground, section B. There is noise from the highway. But it is nice to be down there along the river. The bathrooms are clean. Access to the bike trails is perfect, right out of the campground.
Mar 16, 2025 · K. ReidOlder City RV Park on the edges of a very nice City Park. The 50A upper section (A) is a bit tight and claustrophobic quite close to highway and noisy, muddy and hard not to track crap in. the lower 30A (B) section is more spread out and quieter. All water and electric only, with dump station! Good place for an overnight and quite honestly seems to be the only show in town!
Jun 17, 2025 · Ed RiceVery tight sites, no sewer hookups, but we were placed right next to an abandoned trailer. Beautiful park next to river, park was clean and we'll maintained. Good for an overnight.
Jun 17, 2025 · Diane AllenUPDATE4-16-25: If you haven't tried one of the rental bikes or, I highly suggest it. We quite enjoyed traveling the concrete and asphalt trails on it!6-7-24: It's such a lovely place with plenty of parking. This would be a great location for birthday parties, taking your dog to play/walk, sit and read a book or many other activities. There are restrooms that you can use located randomly around the grounds. I love having my breakfast under a willow tree on the back circle of the park.
