Diverse Campsite Options: Limestone Bluffs offers a variety of camping experiences to suit every preference. For those who enjoy a more traditional, rugged outdoor experience, primitive campsites are available. These sites often include basic amenities like nice wooden platforms for tents and fire rings, perfect for embracing the raw beauty of nature. For those seeking more comfort, the "Lookout" cabin provides a more amenity-rich experience, offering many of the conveniences of home.
The "Lookout" Cabin Amenities: This premier offering at Limestone Bluffs is designed for maximum comfort. It typically includes essential home amenities such as a hot shower, making it a luxurious option after a day of hiking or fishing. Guests can also expect comfortable lawn chairs for relaxing outdoors and a gas grill, perfect for preparing meals with ease. This option provides a fantastic glamping experience, blending nature with comfort.
On-Site Restrooms and Showers: While one review noted that showers weren't yet turned on at the beginning of a season (which can be common for seasonal campgrounds), the presence of restrooms and showers is a key service. When operational, these facilities are often maintained to a high standard, contributing to a clean and comfortable stay for all campers.
Privacy-Focused Layout: A standout feature is the thoughtful layout of all campsites. The design ensures that each site offers a significant degree of privacy, so campers don't feel "on top of other campers." This emphasis on seclusion enhances the peaceful atmosphere of the campground.
Fire Rings and Firewood: All campsites are equipped with fire rings, allowing campers to enjoy traditional campfires for cooking, warmth, and ambiance. While not explicitly stated, campgrounds typically offer firewood for sale on-site or have nearby vendors, which is a crucial service for an authentic camping experience.
Pet-Friendly Environment: Limestone Bluffs proudly welcomes pets, making it an ideal destination for those who wish to bring their furry friends along for the adventure. This inclusive policy ensures that the entire family can enjoy the outdoor experience together.
Kid-Friendly Atmosphere: The campground is also explicitly kid-friendly, providing a safe and engaging environment for children to explore and enjoy nature. This makes it a popular choice for families looking for an outdoor getaway.
Limestone Bluffs stands out for several key features that contribute to its appeal as a top-tier camping destination in Ohio, especially for those seeking a genuine outdoor experience with comfort and privacy:
Remarkable Seclusion and Privacy: This is perhaps the most celebrated feature of Limestone Bluffs. Reviews consistently highlight that the campsites are designed to offer a high degree of privacy, ensuring that you don't feel "on top of other campers." This creates a truly peaceful and intimate outdoor experience, allowing visitors to disconnect and enjoy nature without distractions.
The "Lookout" Cabin with Home Amenities: For those who prefer a more comfortable stay without sacrificing the outdoor feel, the "Lookout" cabin is a major draw. It offers amenities typically found at home, including a hot shower, comfortable lawn chairs, and a gas grill. This option perfectly blends the rustic charm of camping with modern conveniences, appealing to "glampers" or families needing extra comfort.
Abundant Hiking Trails: Limestone Bluffs boasts plenty of trails right on the property. These trails allow campers to explore the scenic bluffs, woodlands, and unique natural features of the area directly from their campsite. Whether you're looking for a leisurely stroll or a more invigorating hike, the diverse trail system provides ample opportunity for outdoor exploration and exercise.
On-Site Fishing Pond: A dedicated pond for fishing is a fantastic highlight, especially for families and fishing enthusiasts. It provides a convenient and accessible spot to cast a line, offering the potential for a relaxing afternoon of fishing without needing to travel off-site. This feature adds significant recreational value to the campground.
Exceptional Stargazing Opportunities: Located away from major light pollution, Limestone Bluffs offers spectacular opportunities for stargazing. The best way for us Ohioans to discover any current promotions is to contact Limestone Bluffs directly. Given their focus on guest satisfaction and creating a welcoming environment, they may offer flexible options or discounts that aren't broadly advertised.
When you reach out, consider inquiring about:
Off-Season Rates: Camping during the spring or fall (shoulder seasons) often comes with reduced rates compared to the peak summer months. If your schedule allows, these times can offer a more peaceful experience at a potentially lower cost.
Extended Stay Discounts: If you're planning a longer getaway, inquire if there are weekly or multi-night discounts available. Many campgrounds offer reduced per-night rates for stays of a week or more.
Group Booking Rates: If you're planning a trip with a large family group or a gathering of friends (perhaps your local hiking club or a group of stargazing enthusiasts), ask if they offer special rates for booking multiple sites or the "Lookout" cabin for an extended period.
Loyalty Programs or Repeat Visitor Incentives: Some campgrounds offer perks for returning customers. If you visit and love it, ask about any programs for future stays.
Weekday vs. Weekend Pricing: Like many accommodations, weekend rates might be higher due to demand. If you have flexibility, booking a weekday stay could potentially save you some money.

Limestone Bluffs Reviews
We had an amazing time at Limestone Bluffs. It’s kid friendly and pet friendly. We enjoyed star gazing, hiking and fishing. It’s a nice, secluded and clean environment. The lookout had all the amenities of home, including a hot shower, lawn chairs and gas grill. Other campsites were more primitive with nice wooden platforms and fire rings. Plenty of trails and pond for fishing. All of the campsites gave you privacy, so that you’re not feeling like you’re on top of other campers. Would definitely recommend.
Mar 25, 2023 · Kelly PainterPretty secluded site and pets are allowed. Our dogs had a great time 😁 Only downside was the showers weren't turned on yet, other than that it's a great campsite!
Mar 31, 2024 · Sasha KordeckiNice little place to camp. The lakes a little exposed for private camping but all the other sites looked great. We stayed at the grove and it felt super secluded. We'll definitely be back.
Mar 04, 2024 · Mathius SleepsThis place was so special and really. Worth it to get away from bigger campgrounds and to be a place a bit more quiet and removed from the rest. Will definitely be back! Gotta reccomend the lookout spot.
