Liberty Glen Campground Reviews
This is a great campground within 2hrs of the city and the drive in is beautiful. We stayed in a loop with construction and no water but it was well maintained and temp toilets were clean. Some sites have steeper grades and don’t have room for more than one tent but all have fire rings with integral grillLake Sonoma is also close by and a quick hike from the campground. Some sites look down into the lake as well, will definitely be back!
Aug 28, 2018 · Russell OlivasThe views were spectacular. However the bathrooms were locked up tight due to plumbing issues. It would have been nice to have running water.
Apr 13, 2017 · Jon SouliereWe were (just) at Liberty Glen for one night in December, a Friday night, and there were a total of 4 sites taken of the 96. For reference, we are a couple, a dog, and a short (23') class A RV and we mostly do/prefer dry camping in more picturesque and secluded settings. The B loop was closed for the winter, but still--we had the place to ourselves and the pick of sites. I reserved online about 45 minutes before we arrived, and that posed no problems. You MUST reserve ahead of time online, even if by only minutes, because you need the gate code at the unmanned entry gate, and you get the gate code with your reservation confirmation (the gate code changes regularly).I read prior reviews about there being no water (still true--host said the Corps of Engineers are trying to fix the pump issue that has apparently knocked out all of the water to the campground; there were very clean porta potties at all of the bathrooms) and about there being no shade (also seemed like it could be an issue if it were hot, because we saw only some sites that would have summer shade). Both of these being said, we really enjoyed the solitude, location, size (it's pretty huge), and otherwise well maintained nature of the campground. The main host, whose name we did not get, was great and knowledgeable about the area. He came by once to check us in, chatted a bit, and later was around doing some odd jobs on his quad. Now that we've been, we'll definitely go back. If you go, plan to be fully equipped with water and shade (if you go when it's hot).
Dec 25, 2017 · Shannon RogersPretty setting, but beware that there is NO WATER 😔 chemical Porta potties and no showers. No cell phone reception, so you might go into tech withdrawal 😉. You must make reservations with recreation.gov, so don't expect to camp here if you didn't!That being said, the camp hosts are friendly and helpful.Access to the lake from the campground is about a 1&1/3 mile steep hike, so plan on driving down to the lake or include getting there while hiking. Each campsite has a picnic table, fire ring, and BBQ and hook to hang your food out of the way of raccoons😏. Or.....a solar shower maybe?Lots of hiking trails with trailheads along dry Creek Rd.Firewood and water can be purchased at the kiosk, nearest grocery store is either Cloverdale or Healdsburg.
Jul 19, 2017 · Jerry GLovely views. Very strict quiet hours. Great trails with maps. Can't wait until they fix the water--all water facilities are down.
