Leisurewood Recreational Community operates as a comprehensive seasonal campground, offering a wide array of services and amenities primarily geared towards extended stays and a vibrant community atmosphere. While specifics can vary, general services provided typically include:
- Seasonal Campsites: The core offering is seasonal camping, where individuals and families lease a site for the entire summer season (or longer), allowing them to set up their RVs or park models as a summer home.
- Full Hookups: Seasonal sites generally come with full hookups, including water, electric (various amp services), and sewer connections, providing all the necessary utilities for comfortable living.
- Community Pools: The community boasts multiple swimming pools, which are consistently highlighted by guests as being clean and well-maintained. These serve as central hubs for recreation and relaxation.
- On-site Security: Leisurewood provides security personnel within the community to help maintain order and ensure safety. While reviews mention varying experiences with security, their presence is a stated service.
- Grounds Maintenance: For seasonal sites, the community typically includes some level of grounds maintenance, though specific responsibilities for individual sites may vary and should be clarified.
- Office / Management Staff: A dedicated office staff handles inquiries, seasonal leases, and general community management, providing a point of contact for residents.
- Recreational Facilities: Beyond pools, a wide range of recreational facilities are often available, such as playgrounds, sports courts (basketball, shuffleboard, etc.), and communal areas for activities.
- Community Events: Leisurewood often organizes various community events and activities throughout the season, fostering a lively and engaging atmosphere for residents.
- On-site Convenience Store (Possible): Many large seasonal campgrounds include a convenience store for basic necessities, snacks, and camping supplies, though this should be confirmed.
- Pet Policy: It's common for seasonal communities to have a pet policy; prospective residents should inquire about any breed or size restrictions and associated fees.
Given the seasonal nature and emphasis on community, many services revolve around providing a complete summer living experience for residents.
Leisurewood Recreational Community offers a range of features and highlights designed to create a lively and engaging summer environment, particularly for seasonal campers:
- Vibrant Community Atmosphere: This is a key highlight. Leisurewood fosters a lively and active community, where residents are encouraged to interact and participate in various activities. It's known for its energetic environment, including golf cart usage throughout the park.
- Clean and Well-Maintained Pools: Multiple swimming pools are a major draw, consistently praised by visitors for their cleanliness and relaxing atmosphere, providing a central spot for cooling off and socializing during warm summer days.
- Extensive Recreational Facilities: Beyond the pools, Leisurewood typically offers a variety of amenities that support active living, such as playgrounds for children, sports courts (e.g., basketball, shuffleboard, possibly mini-golf), and common areas for social gatherings.
- Seasonal/Permanent Sites: The option to lease a site for an entire season or even on a more permanent basis is a significant feature, allowing residents to establish a "summer home" without the need to set up and tear down their RV every trip. This fosters a stronger sense of community.
- Golf Cart Friendly: Golf carts are a prominent feature of the community, used widely by residents for getting around and adding to the lively, recreational feel of the park.
- On-Site Security: The presence of security personnel contributes to the overall safety and management of the community, although effectiveness can be subjective as per reviews.

- Professional Office Staff: Reviews note that the office people are nice, suggesting a welcoming and helpful administrative presence for residents.
It is important for prospective residents to understand that the "noisy" and "over the top" fun, as described in some reviews, is an inherent part of Leisurewood's lively atmosphere, which appeals to those seeking an active, social environment rather than a quiet, secluded retreat.
As a seasonal recreational community, Leisurewood Recreational Community's approach to "promotions or special offers" typically revolves around their seasonal leasing rates rather than short-term discounts common at transient campgrounds. Here's what potential seasonal residents or visitors might expect or inquire about:
- Seasonal Lease Rates: The primary offering is the seasonal lease of a campsite. The specific pricing for these leases would constitute their main "offer." These rates cover the use of the site and access to community amenities for the entire season (e.g., typically May to October). It's crucial to inquire about what exactly is included in the seasonal fee (e.g., utility hookups, basic grounds maintenance, access to all facilities).
- Early Bird Specials (Seasonal Lease): Some seasonal campgrounds might offer a small discount or incentive for renewing a lease early for the next season, or for new seasonal residents who sign up well in advance of the opening.
- Referral Programs: It's possible that Leisurewood has a referral program where existing seasonal residents receive a benefit for referring new individuals who sign up for a seasonal spot.
- Multi-Year Lease Incentives: While less common, some communities might offer a slightly more favorable rate for committing to a multi-year seasonal lease.
- Utility Inclusions: Clarify whether electricity, water, and sewer usage are included in the seasonal rate or if they are metered and charged separately. This is a crucial factor in understanding the total cost.
For the most accurate and current information on seasonal rates, any available incentives, and the terms of a seasonal lease, it is highly recommended to contact Leisurewood Recreational Community directly. Given that it's a "permanent" summer spot for many, understanding the full financial commitment and what's included is paramount.

For New Yorkers, Leisurewood Recreational Community stands out as a highly suitable and appealing option, particularly for those seeking a vibrant, amenity-rich summer home away from home. Its primary suitability stems from its focus on seasonal camping, offering residents the convenience of having a semi-permanent vacation spot without the need for constant setup and teardown. Leisurewood Recreational Community Reviews
This is just a campground! Very noisy at night.. Children running around on golf carts all hours of the day-and-night. Love seeing people having fun but this is over the top. As a Seasonal visitor I would not Lease a permanent spot there. Office people are nice. Security guards Think They are police. During the day time At night when you need them you cannot find them. Every other golf cart has a security sign. Seasonals pay for yard maintenance. the maintenance crew is a joke. Belligerent and sarcastic. 5720 Happy Camping🤪 Dear owner, You have my sympathy. If you have spent 22 years in the park? America has so many beautiful places to see and spend the summer. So talking about Sleepy Hollow Or anywhere else shows me you do not know what you are talking about. You are the problem and not the solution.

Aug 01, 2024 · Thomas BriggsMy grandparents both live here and whenever I get the chance to visit it doesn’t disappoint everybody is just so friendly! amenities are fantastic as well.
Apr 25, 2024 · Evan QuinnWe rented for 1 month. The park is nice. Quite hours end at 8 am, we have never stayed anywhere that was this early in 60 years. Usually 10, a few at 9. I called the owners rep by accident and was immediately shut down on my questions because we were renters.I was told to call a different number, the renters number. It made me feel very unwelcome, the tone was you are second class here. There are over 900 spots with the vast majority owners. Our motorhome got some pretty deep gouges from trees on one of the main roads, trimming is needed. I would stay again for the location and most folks staying were very nice, as was the front office.
Sep 05, 2020 · Suzie MorellaVisited a friend there, and it's a great campground that is truly a family friendly one. Many activities for everyone. Two ponds 2 pools playgrounds and events that are well planned throughout the camping season.
