Lazy Llama Campground Introduce
Welcome to Lazy Llama Campground, a unique and tranquil RV park nestled in the charming rural landscape of Chuckey, Tennessee. For those seeking a peaceful retreat, particularly for extended stays, our campground offers a serene environment distinct from bustling tourist-oriented parks. While the name might conjure images of a whimsical, family-focused vacation spot, Lazy Llama Campground has evolved into a welcoming haven primarily for permanent residents or those looking for long-term rentals, and mature campers seeking quiet relaxation. We pride ourselves on providing a comfortable, attentive, and secure base for your East Tennessee adventures or as a temporary home while you settle into the area.
Our campground's charm lies in its calm atmosphere and the unique presence of our friendly llamas, who are a constant source of delight for guests. While it may not be "this quaint little campground" some might initially expect from website pictures, it offers a genuine sense of community and the attentive care that comes with a focus on longer-term residents. The owners are "very friendly and very attentive to our needs," ensuring that "everything was perfect" during one guest's multi-month stay. This dedication to guest satisfaction and a peaceful environment makes Lazy Llama Campground an ideal choice for individuals and couples seeking a quiet, comfortable, and well-managed place to stay in the Chuckey area. It truly offers a relaxed pace of life, with the added bonus of interacting with some truly "wonderful animals."
Lazy Llama Campground is conveniently located at 405 S Chuckey Ruritan Rd South, Chuckey, TN 37641, USA. This address places us in the rural heart of Greene County, Tennessee, offering a quiet escape while still providing reasonable accessibility to larger towns and essential services. Chuckey itself is a small, unincorporated community, known for its peaceful countryside and agricultural setting. The drive to our campground will take you through scenic Tennessee landscapes, setting the tone for a relaxing visit.
For Tennessee locals, particularly those in Greeneville, Johnson City, or even further afield in the Tri-Cities area, our campground offers a practical and peaceful solution for various needs. Whether you are searching for a house to buy, as one satisfied customer was, or simply need a quiet, long-term spot for your RV, our location provides a convenient base. Lazy Llama Campground Reviews
We have been wanting to visit the Lazy Llama for a couple of years now. With that being said the website pictures are really deceiving. The Lazy Llama is more of a permanent resident campground or long term rental. It could be so much more than what it is. If you come to visit, make sure you stay in one of the pull through sites. Site 26 is the perfect spot. Great shade and the best view from the back of the camper. We really enjoyed the spot. We had a great time the few days that we were here. Saturday morning started off a little rough due to a small ball field being next door that had a very loud speaker. We did call the office and I believe the ladies name was Tracy that we spoke to. She took care of the situation and assured us that this did not usually happen. She also takes care of the Llamas. She took us up to have a great visit with all the Llamas. Wonderful animals and very friendly. Tracy was super nice also. Even though the campground was not this quaint little campground that we expected, we had a great trip. Would I come back??? I probably would for a three day weekend as long as the Llamas are there and available. Very long trip due to the traffic in Knoxville, so not worth the trip for just a weekend warrior. Not a place for kids, nothing to do but for us older folks, yes. With some money injection, this would be a super great place.
May 25, 2025 · BC LongmireI staid here for the months and it was the best ever. The owners are very friendly and very attentive to our needs. Everything was perfect while we sewerage searched for a house to buy. This is a great spot to stay in for short or long term.
Jun 29, 2025 · Carlos LWe have been here for 5 months and have loved it! This place has a small family/ community feel and everyone helps everyone. It’s clean, quiet, well cared for and of course has llamas that are fun to see and go up and talk to. Tina, the manager, is super responsive to texts and calls and does SO MUCH to keep this place going. I also love that there is propane right here on site. I’m so grateful for her help during the cold snow when my water wasn’t working right. She’s amazing. We are glad we chose to stay here !
