What is Worth Choosing: The Larson Ridge Experience
Choosing a campground can often be a difficult decision, but Larson Ridge Camping Area presents a compelling case for being your next outdoor destination. The reasons to choose this spot are rooted in its unique combination of natural beauty, practical amenities, and a friendly, open atmosphere. One of the most significant draws is the sense of freedom and space. Unlike many campgrounds with small, tightly packed sites, Larson Ridge offers big, open spots that allow for a feeling of seclusion and privacy, even when the area is busy. This is particularly appealing for those with large rigs or groups who want to set up a spacious camp without feeling crowded. The ease of access for large vehicles is another major plus, alleviating the stress often associated with maneuvering big rigs in rugged terrain. Additionally, the camping fee is a small price to pay for the amenities and the chance to experience such a beautiful area. While visitors should be mindful of leaving no trace, the communal effort to keep the area clean reflects a shared respect for the environment and for fellow campers. The natural beauty is unparalleled, and the opportunity to hike and explore the surrounding landscape is an adventure in itself. Larson Ridge Camping Area is a place where you can truly unplug and reconnect with nature, all within a reasonable drive from major Arizona cities. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Absolutely loved this place. I wanted to make campfire coffee but no fires allowed. Very beautiful area. I picked 3 bags of trash and a lot of it was kid stuff. So…..clean up after your kids. Also picked about 12 beer cans. How can someone just throw their trash on the ground and not pick it up here?? It’s such a beautiful area. 5 stars.
July 09 · Rippy WilliamsThis was a great spot for camping, big open spots and the dirt tracks were easy to move around on. We have a big rig (F350 and a Travel trailer) and we found a great spot straight away, we didn't venture to far in either. I would suggest someone jumping out and checking for any small tree stumps before maneuvering. The only negative, and the reason this isn't a 5 star, was the litter, it wasn't bad when we were there, but I can see at peak season this being a shame. We also think our dog got sick from eating something left behind by another camper, so lesson learned, check the campground. Great group spots though!
May 09 · Alice JaebThe campground is beautiful when there aren't a ton of people and campers crowding the place. It does get incredibly crowded in the summer. It's a primitive, dispersed camping area with no services at all, but we love it here. A big plus is the campground location practically across the street from Canyon Point State Campground where you can fill your camper with water for free. Make sure you have everything you need before you come to Larsen Ridge. You can stay for up to 14 days for free.
August 18 · Karen KrawczykBeautiful views, nice hiking trails and nearby lakes!
May 26 · Helga BakerNot too bad of a place to camp. It offers easy access. The downside is this area can get crowded .
