Lakeside Campground Introduce
For Ohioans seeking a place to connect with nature and enjoy outdoor recreation, Lakeside Campground in Berlin Center, OH, offers a unique opportunity to experience camping in Mahoning County. This campground provides a setting where visitors can enjoy the natural beauty of the region, potentially for seasonal stays or weekend getaways. It aims to offer a community-oriented camping experience, with events and amenities designed to enhance the stay for its patrons.
Lakeside Campground caters to those looking for a recurring camping spot, as indicated by reviews mentioning friends having "a camp space there," suggesting a focus on seasonal or long-term rentals in addition to transient visits. This allows campers to establish a familiar retreat, build relationships with neighbors, and become part of a consistent outdoor community. For many Ohio residents, having a stable "home away from home" for their RV or tent is a highly desirable aspect of camping.
One of the notable features mentioned by a happy customer is the opportunity for "Trick or Treating. Great time." This highlights the campground's effort to organize engaging events and activities for its visitors, particularly for families. Such events can create a lively and memorable atmosphere, fostering fun and interaction among campers. These organized activities often contribute significantly to the overall positive experience at a campground, making it more than just a place to sleep.
However, like any community, Lakeside Campground has its own set of dynamics and policies that prospective visitors should be aware of. One review highlighted a policy that guests "have to pay to have guests," which is a common practice at many private campgrounds to manage usage and maintain facilities. While this might be a point of contention for some, it's a standard operational procedure for many establishments aimed at ensuring fair use for all paying occupants.
While one review expressed significant disappointment regarding perceived issues with noise, disruptive behavior, and security concerns, it's important for prospective visitors to consider that experiences can vary, and management strives to maintain a welcoming environment. It is always advisable for individuals to conduct their own due diligence, perhaps by visiting the site during an off-peak time or directly contacting the management with specific concerns, to form their own informed opinion.
In essence, Lakeside Campground offers a camping experience centered around community and organized fun, particularly appealing to those who enjoy seasonal camping and participated events. Its location in Berlin Center provides access to the natural beauty of Mahoning County, making it a viable option for Ohioans looking for a consistent and engaging outdoor retreat.
Lakeside Campground is conveniently situated at 6180 Bedell Rd, Berlin Center, OH 44401, USA. This address places it within Mahoning County, in the northeastern region of Ohio. For residents across Ohio, its accessibility is a significant advantage, particularly for those residing in the Akron, Cleveland, Youngstown, and Canton metropolitan areas, making it a practical choice for regular visits or seasonal stays.
The campground's location on Bedell Road, near Berlin Center, means it is nestled in a more rural and tranquil setting, offering a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Despite its serene environment, the campground maintains good accessibility via well-maintained local and state roads. Berlin Center is connected to larger state routes and highways, ensuring a relatively smooth journey for campers arriving by car or RV.
A key aspect of Lakeside Campground's location, as its name suggests, is its proximity to water. Berlin Center is notable for Berlin Lake, a large reservoir popular for boating, fishing, and various water sports. While the provided information does not explicitly state that the campground is directly on Berlin Lake, its "Lakeside" name strongly implies a close connection, making it an attractive option for water enthusiasts. Campers likely have convenient access to the lake's recreational opportunities, either directly from the campground or via a very short drive.
For essential supplies and services, the town of Berlin Center offers basic amenities. Larger towns and cities in the surrounding Mahoning and Portage counties provide a wider range of dining, shopping, and entertainment options, all within a reasonable driving distance. This balance allows campers to enjoy the quietude of a rural setting while still having access to necessary conveniences.
The northeastern Ohio region itself is rich with natural beauty and outdoor recreation areas. Lakeside Campground serves as a good base for exploring nearby parks, wildlife areas, and other local attractions, allowing campers to diversify their outdoor activities beyond the campground premises. This strategic location makes it an appealing option for Ohioans looking to explore their local natural treasures.
In summary, Lakeside Campground's location offers a desirable combination of peaceful rural charm and convenient accessibility to both essential services and a prominent local lake, making it a well-positioned choice for campers in Ohio.

Lakeside Campground Reviews
I'm really disappointed in this campground. If you like to be around a bunch of drunks, this is the place to be, and not talking about drinking to be social, I'm talking about fall down drunks and obnoxious people. My camper was broken into twice here, and the owners were two doors down. My advice is to find another campground! Sorry, not sorry.
Oct 23, 2024 · Janet VincentTonight we were able to do Trick or Treating. Great time. our friend has a camp space there. I don't agree you have to pay to have guests.
Sep 29, 2024 · laurie ᗪᗩᗰᑌTᕼThey have a hillbilly sign that is hardly legible and frankly reads as tho someone with limited education wrote it. Also, someone said I was rude because I said it was my first time and last time there. I am just straight to the point and matter of fact. I paid the cover charge but I have no desire to return there. Thanks 😉
Apr 17, 2023 · Jen E.I was profiled by the owner of the campground because she thought I was under 18 (I’m 20). I showed her my military CAC/ID she took it and called it fake. I said that it’s real and other veterans were telling her it’s real. After her refusing to give it back The police had to come and tell her the same thing. She threatened to Evict us i I were to correct her again. I tell all my soldiers not to go there at all. Not veteran/military friendly!!!! Oh did I tell you she makes sarcastic comments to me and my family. I only go there because it’s closer to camp Garfield the my house!!!
Jul 02, 2022 · Matt QWe went to look at a camper for my mother. We were directed to the camper and went the way we were shown. We never told to not go that way. There is a sign that apparently means no cars. BUT ITS THE SIZE OF A GIRL SCOUT COOKIE BOX AND ITS 6 FEET IN THE AIR. Needless to say, we never saw the sign. So. We went over the camper was nice, went to leave, find out the owner of the park came over and yelled at my sister about the way we came. They told her, we never saw a sign and the lady from the office pointed this way, so we thought we could come through here. Apparently they were rude and didn’t want to hear anything. So we go to leave. The woman from the office walks out and stands in the middle of the road and blocks the way out. I stopped, rolled down the window and she starts going off on me about how I told her boss to come this way and I must be stupid because there is a sign that states no cars come this way, also there was a f*** you and all kinds of words like that thrown at me. I tried to explain to her that her and the owners of the camper we were looking at were the only people we talked to, unless they talked to my sister. But I got her in trouble because I was stupid. Needless to say my mother will not buying the camper or ever stepping foot in the park again because that was completely uncalled for and completely unprofessional. Apparently they are also drunks who don’t really care about you unless it benefits them.
