Lake Piru Recreation Area Reviews
Wonderful camp grounds, lots are big and have electrical outlets (for those who like to glamp) we’ve actually been coming here since I was a little girls and it feels great to bring my girls here so they can have the same memories I had growing up. The lake is beautiful but lower than I remember. There is a beach area for swimming, I only saw one loading dock open again due to the water levels. Showers are decent the bathrooms are clean
Jun 24, 2025 · Mikiesha ScalesI do not recommend this camp site! Specifically 217 the one we got for the following reasons. You can’t access the lake as suggested by the campground map. You need to hike a good mile up and hill down to the boat ramp in order to get there without driving from your spot. This spot specifically has not one drop of shade, you will be under the sun from all angles untill sundown. THE WIFI SITUATION! So yes wifi and camping, kinda lame, but I had a college paper due overlapping my trip and because of that we specifically chose this place. This “wifi” is only accessible when parked by the gate entrance, and for $9 it wouldn’t even allow me to email in that I can’t turn in my paper. I understand not all camp areas will have wifi but saying it’s offered “on site “ then this is the situation I’m in is rea wifi but saying it’s offered “on site “ then this is the situation I’m in is really trash. Lastly even with the noise restrictions it sucked that the 24 hours we were here was drowned out by a group of people at another part of the place having a huge event we got to listen too all the way up to the 10pm cut off. Now there was some good things so I won’t leave them off. This location specifically is right next to the bathrooms/showers and trash. That was nice . OH BUT . These bathrooms are very old, you need quarters to pay for the shower and (and I am a smaller woman mind you) the stalls are VERY TIGHT. I couldn’t sit down and close the doors completely. The toilet paper too is locked on a flat rod making it super hard to get TP. We left at 5 am the next morning even tho we had a four day reservation because we came.
Jun 20, 2025 · Grace GomezThe sites were flat and clean. The water was a little weird, there are spigots but some of the locals said they don’t drink from it and bring in bottled water. Restrooms were clean but damaged since some people are disrespectful. The staff cleaned/mopped the toilets twice while we were there! I’d go back for sure.
May 18, 2025 · Ivan LawrenceMy favorite place to camp! They have electricity, hot showers, clean bathrooms, a sink station for washing dishes and washers and dryers if you need them. I love seeing the deer!
Mar 02, 2025 · Stephanie FergusonVery nice stay at this camping area, not a hotel. As this indicates. 🤭😊 The camp hosts are so nice and friendly. We enjoyed our stay. It was nice, quiet, and so nice to see all the deer out and about. We got in some running and biking in the area.
