- Seasonal and Annual Sites: A key characteristic is the significant number of seasonal and annual sites. This creates a strong community of long-term residents, providing a unique social dynamic within the park. While this can mean many personalized sites, it also contributes to the "trailer park" aesthetic noted by some.
Promotions or Special Offers
As part of the Encore RV Resorts and Thousand Trails network, Lake Myers Campground frequently participates in various promotions and special offers designed to attract both new and returning guests. These offers can vary by season and membership status. Potential guests, particularly North Carolina locals looking for a deal, should regularly check the official Encore RV Resorts or Thousand Trails website for the most current promotions.
Common types of promotions often seen across this network include:
- Membership Programs: Encore and Thousand Trails offer various membership tiers (like the Camping Pass, Cabin Pass, or Trails Collection) that provide discounted nightly rates, extended stays, and access to a large network of campgrounds. While these are not traditional "promotions," they offer significant savings for frequent campers.
- Seasonal Discounts: Special rates for off-peak seasons (e.g., fall or spring discounts) or extended stays during specific times of the year might be available.
- Weekly and Monthly Stay Savings: Often, booking for a week or a month provides a reduced nightly rate compared to daily bookings. For example, weekly savings can be up to 30% off, and monthly savings up to 60% off nightly rates across the network.
- Military and First Responder Discounts: Many Encore resorts offer a percentage off daily rates (e.g., 20%) for active and retired military personnel and first responders with valid ID.
- Good Sam Discounts: As a Good Sam affiliated park, members may be eligible for a discount on their stay (typically 10%).
- Last-Minute Deals: Occasionally, last-minute booking incentives might be offered for available sites.
- Annual Site Savings: For those interested in a long-term commitment, the park frequently promotes special incentives for annual RV site leases, such as discounted yearly rates or "free" months of site rent. These are particularly relevant given the high number of seasonal residents.
It is crucial to verify any offer directly with Lake Myers Campground or via the official Encore/Thousand Trails reservation portal, as terms and availability can change.

Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals
For North Carolina locals, Lake Myers Campground in Mocksville presents a unique and multifaceted option for their camping and leisure needs. Its suitability lies in several key aspects, though prospective visitors should go in with a clear understanding of its particular character.
Firstly, its extensive array of on-site amenities makes it highly convenient for families and individuals seeking a comprehensive recreational experience without needing to leave the campground. With multiple pools, miniature golf, a game room, and lake access with canoes, there's always something to do. This "resort" style approach is perfect for those who want a vacation where entertainment is readily available and boredom is kept at bay. For families with children, the variety of activities can be a major draw, keeping everyone engaged throughout their stay.
Secondly, the campground's significant population of seasonal and annual residents creates a distinct community atmosphere. While some visitors might prefer a more transient camping experience, many locals appreciate the sense of belonging and familiarity that comes from a long-term community. This can lead to lasting friendships and a welcoming environment, especially for those who plan to visit frequently or even secure a seasonal site themselves. The friendly and communicative staff and residents noted in positive reviews contribute to this inviting environment.
However, it's important for locals to set expectations, especially if their memories are from decades past or if they are accustomed to pristine, state-park-like campgrounds. Some recent feedback suggests that while the amenities are plentiful, parts of the campground and its facilities, particularly areas with older annual sites, may show signs of wear and tear. This means that while the core offerings of pools, lake access, and activities are present, the overall aesthetic might lean more towards a lived-in, established community rather than a brand-new, meticulously manicured resort.
Ultimately, Lake Myers Campground is suitable for North Carolinians looking for an amenity-rich, family-friendly RV resort experience, particularly those who appreciate a strong sense of community and are considering seasonal or annual site options. It offers a convenient escape with plenty to do, providing a solid home base for exploring the Piedmont Triad region or simply enjoying a relaxing time at the campground itself, provided expectations are aligned with its established and evolving nature.

Feb 24, 2025 · Beth HawleyWent to this campground as a older kid and loved it back around 1990 visited again around 2000 as an adult and loved it 24 years later made a reservation, checked in, drove through , located campsite, and pulled right on out of there… we could not stay… I’m so shocked that they call this campground an encore campground… wow how it has changed… honestly it looks like a camper trailer park… most of the sites are apparently annual sites… they are mostly junked up and not taken care of… our view would have been a run down camper that looks likes it been there for 30 years and a couple massive piles of sticks and old furniture that’s not in use and old wheel barrels piled up… I was so looking forward to camping here after all the great memories I had 20 plus years ago but it is really junked up and run down… all the pictures they have on website are old… the putt putt is run down bad carpet lifted and torn… campground needs a makeup…needs to be removed from the encore list unfortunately… so sad and disappointing…my husband did say the staff that checked him in was very nice
Mar 09, 2025 · Kimberly DaleHUGE BEES NEST, in the ground, right outside our door! No internet as listed, and I was there on a work vacation. Only 14 channels available out of 40 something listed. Could not get in gate and there was nobody there to help. Toilet not bolted correctly so it wobbled. Overall, service was awful !!!!!
Apr 24, 2025 · Donna HarrisThe office lady is a total nightmare. Only time she was nice to us is when we first got here and that’s only cause her manager was behind her. Now that the manager is on vacation Alicia is SO RUDE. My husband went to the office to get our propane tanks filled. She was so rude and told him to wait in the truck for maintenance, then she went to lunch and never even called them!! He ended up taking the tanks somewhere else. I loved this place at first. We were looking into staying annually!! It’s sad that one person can totally ruin it. There are so many deserving people that would LOVE to have a job like Alicia. Including myself!! And Alicia if you ever see this I hope you can learn to greet people with kindness and compassion. You should be smiling and welcoming every person that comes through that door. Aside from that everyone else living here is really nice. The maintenance guys are awesome as well as the housekeeper. The manager was so sweet in trying to get us booked longer. Kudos to Sam as well for hooking us up with firewood! But 2 stars is all I have considering the one person running the place clearly hates her job.
Nov 24, 2024 · C SThis campground is extremely dated. The "golf course" looked as if it hadn't been touched in decades. The pool decking is all old and flaking. Pool is not blue. Many many permanent residents. People where nice. But not as shown in pictures and campsites are small and hard to get too. Had to leave campground and go around to go to the pool. Definitely not as the websites portrays. Was the July 16 -18th.
