Lake Guntersville State Park Campground Reviews
We recently camped 3 nights at Lake Guntersville State Park. We were really happy that we had full hook-ups! That’s definitely a perk for a state park. Our site was concrete and very level. The sites were spacious as far as neighbors to the right and left of you. However, the neighbors behind are super close - within feet and talking distance. Too close for comfort. Otherwise, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It’s a large campground with tons of sites, close to the lake; sports courts, large kids area, dog park, swimming beach, docks, large gift shop and very large, clean bath houses. It’s about a 15-20 drive into Guntersville. Highly recommend driving up to the Lodge and just walking around. It’s beautiful inside.
Jun 25, 2025 · Carrie ClinardStopped to swim. Paid the $20 honor system to enter the swimming area. Only stayed an hour as the water was nasty. It was full of what appeared to be grass cuttings or where shore line had been cleared of plants. Grass with roots attached. You couldn't actually swim in the mess. Would have left and asked for our money back. Hopefully as the summer progresses, the water clears. Only used the beach area. The beach was nice
Jun 18, 2025 · Roberta BushCampground was great, I was at a full service site so didn't use the bathrooms but I went in them and they looked clean. Beach area was clean and we'll maintained. Plenty of trees for shade on the campground. We'll definitely stay here again
Jun 26, 2025 · Mark WilliamsOne of the best campgrounds ever. Especially if you come with a kayak and get up early enough to see the sunrise and stay up late enough to see the sunset and talk to your best friends around the campfire. 🔥. We had a magical weekend.I am writing this while watching the sunrise on the water before driving back home to Tennessee.
