However, it is crucial to address the recurring concerns highlighted in customer reviews. Multiple reviews report issues with maintenance, cleanliness of facilities (especially bathrooms with "dead bugs everywhere"), and general upkeep ("no problem nickel and diming you for everything but can’t even mow the ‘picnic area’ or pick up the mass amount of pinecones?"). There are also serious complaints about management, described as "horrible," "disrespectful," and creating a feeling of being "supervised and harassed." Specific incidents mentioned include boats and jet skis in the designated swim area after the rope was removed, and unlevel campsites with hanging tree branches and excessive weeds. These concerns are significant and should be carefully considered by prospective campers.

Lake DuBay Shores Campground Reviews
This campground has potential as it is right on the water, but the rope designating the “swim area” was taken down during our stay and then boats and jet skis were in where my child was trying to swim. The bathrooms have a sign on the door asking that everyone do their part to keep them clean, but I’m wonder when the campground is going to do their part??? There was so many dead bugs everywhere in there and once again, these could have been decent. As stated in other reviews, they have no problem nickel and diming you for everything but can’t even mow the “picnic area” or pick up the mass amount of pinecones? What a terrible shame, this could be a decent campground.
Jun 26, 2025 · Ashley EngstromThe management at this campsite is horrible. They will bother you at all times of the day for random things. They are not nice about it what so ever. Bathrooms are never clean, campsites are not the cleanest and way over priced. Would not recommend staying here. We tried having a relaxing weekend but got pretty much supervised and harassed our whole stay. If I could post zero stars I would.
May 26, 2025 · Nicole SchultzThis place nickels and dimes you any chance they can. Bathrooms are disgustingly. Memorial Day weekend and management waits til last minute to have things ready. Shame because this place has so much potential for better ownership.
May 25, 2025 · Jessica BluntThis campground had a nice location for being closer to Wausau. Other than that I can’t give it to high of a rating. The bathrooms, by campsites, were not clean, there wasn’t a mirror in the bathroom, and for the showers you have to pull a chain to get water to come out. This makes it extremely difficult to just wash…The bathrooms up by the main office were a bit better but when I took a shower the water was very hot, you can’t control the water temp, but that bathroom did at least have a mirror. We camp in a pop-up so I rely on the bathrooms to get ready.
Jul 19, 2024 · Jessica GauwitzStayed June 2024. This place is in Disrepair. The bathrooms are dirty, and everything is falling apart. Sites are not mowed, and the game room is now a storage room of old arcade games and garbage. Dock was not on the river, and there was hardly anyone staying there. Store clerk was friendly, but charged my 3 family members $5 a head to visit for 2 hours. For what we got was not worth the price.
