Kiwanis-Kamp Kiwanis Introduce
For residents of West Michigan, particularly the Holland and Grand Rapids areas, Kiwanis-Kamp Kiwanis on Lakeshore Avenue represents a valuable community resource designed primarily for group camping, youth development programs, and large events. While the term "campground" is used, this facility functions less like a public RV park with individual sites and more like a dedicated group retreat center managed by the Holland Kiwanis Club, a part of the global volunteer organization focused on serving children. Its unique setting, coupled with essential amenities, makes it an ideal spot for organized Michigan groups—from scout troops and youth sports teams to businesses seeking an outdoor, character-building venue.
The reviews, though humorous and reflective of intensive youth camp experiences, highlight the core function of the Kamp: a place for organized activities, team-building, and creating lasting memories. It is specifically equipped for groups, featuring cabins, designated tenting areas, and functional facilities like a great BBQ pit and an amphitheater. These amenities support everything from small weddings and business programs to the large-scale youth groups that are the backbone of the Kiwanis mission. The site’s beautiful location near Lake Michigan adds to its appeal, offering a natural backdrop for various programs.
As a facility dedicated to group rentals, Kamp Kiwanis offers a structured outdoor experience. It's built around fostering teamwork, leadership, and a spirit of adventure. The available facilities—including functional indoor spaces and outdoor gathering points—make it versatile for all seasons and weather conditions. Local Michigan groups often choose Kamp Kiwanis for its capacity to host large numbers of people in a secure, semi-rustic, and highly engaging environment, ensuring a unique and memorable event.
Important Note for Individual Campers: Kamp Kiwanis is typically reserved for group rentals (youth camps, organizational retreats, etc.) and specific events, rather than accommodating drop-in individual campers or nightly RV stays like a commercial campground. Prospective users, especially families or individuals, should contact the Holland Kiwanis Club management to inquire about public availability, rental policies, and non-group stays.
Kamp Kiwanis is situated at 385 Lakeshore Ave, Holland, MI 49424, USA, placing it in a desirable location in West Michigan's lakeshore community.

- Dedicated Tenting Areas: Specific spaces are set aside for tent camping (referred to as "Tenting Village" in similar Kiwanis camps), providing a more traditional outdoor experience for groups.
- Food Service Facilities: The premises likely include a commercial kitchen and a dining hall capable of feeding large groups, although groups may also opt for self-catering.
- Modern Restrooms: Restrooms are available, and due to its capacity for large groups, the facility likely includes multiple, well-maintained bathhouse areas.
- Event Infrastructure: Dedicated spaces are available for events, including the BBQ pit for cooking and the amphitheater for performances, ceremonies, or presentations.
- Group Activity Spaces: The property includes dedicated areas for organized activities, such as fields for sports, outdoor gathering points, and potentially activity-specific buildings (like an arts & crafts shack or MDD building, common at Kiwanis camps).
Kamp Kiwanis offers unique features that are highly attractive to organizational planners and youth leaders in Michigan:
- Amphitheater: The amphitheater is a key highlight, providing a dedicated stage and seating for ceremonies, small weddings, business programs, talent shows, or motivational speeches.
- BBQ Pit: A significant feature mentioned in reviews, the BBQ pit is ideal for large-scale outdoor cooking, perfect for group meals like steak or burger cookouts.
- Versatility: The facility's design supports a wide range of uses—from rustic tent camping and organized youth camps to more formal business programs and special events.
- Character-Building Focus: The camp environment, as described in the review, encourages survival skills, teamwork, and character development, aligning with the Kiwanis mission of serving children.
- Natural Setting: Located on a large, wooded property, the camp offers hiking trails and a secluded environment despite its proximity to the city of Holland.

Kiwanis-Kamp Kiwanis Reviews
Great place for any type of event. The bbq pit is great for steaks or burgers and the amphitheater is a fun place for small weddings, business programs, or youth groups.
April 30 · Jeff MyaardWow. So many memories at this very establishment. My high school swim team would spend a week surviving in these slums to build character. You’ve seen the tv shows like naked and afraid, but you never know the true horrors until you experience them yourself. At dawn, we’d begin the hunting and gathering process, which would carry on until sundown. Scavenging for whatever we could get our hands on to eat, this challenge really put our survival skills to the test. Once dusk came, we’d take turns fending off predators as they came our way. There used to be an annual talent show on the stage at the bottom of the hill, but that was terminated due to my act junior year. I’ve seen pictures of the Boy Scouts doing their thang at this institution, so here’s my advice:1) tent or B U S T2) if you can’t score a tent, make sure you snag a bed in the small cabin3) stealing food from the kitchen in the middle of the night will most likely be a highlight every year (that’s where the parents have their secret stash!)4) Bigfoot sightings are frequent on the west front of the property5) unscrew the light bulbs from the big cabin so those losers think they blew a fuseIn the end it really all comes down to what you make of it. Don’t hold back
