Kimball Point Campground Introduce
For North Carolina residents seeking an exceptional getaway focused on beautiful water views and robust outdoor recreation, Kimball Point Campground is a destination that consistently earns high praise. Located on the expansive, 50,000-acre Kerr Lake reservoir, this campground is a treasured part of the Kerr Lake State Recreation Area, sitting along the eastern shoreline in Warren County.
Kimball Point offers a classic lakeside camping experience that balances natural beauty with necessary comforts. With 74 campsites in total, including numerous sites with electric and water hookups, it comfortably accommodates both RV camping enthusiasts and those who prefer traditional Tent sites. The campground is well-regarded for its Clean bathrooms, clean area and the overall maintenance of the grounds, contributing to a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere for families and groups.
A key feature often highlighted by campers is the stunning proximity to the lake, with many sites being directly waterfront. This location is particularly popular among boaters due to the very close boat ramp and the suitability of the lake in this area for sailing and water sports. The campground also manages to separate its primary camping areas effectively, noting a pleasant picnic area between the RV campground and tent's campground, which helps maintain a sense of space and tranquility across the property.
While the vast majority of experiences are overwhelmingly positive, Kimball Point, like any nature-focused destination, requires visitors to come prepared. Camper reviews indicate that while many sites are great, others need major leveling gear, with some driveways being steep. This is a common characteristic of lakeside parks built into rolling terrain. Similarly, some longer RVs may require up to 60 feet of power cord to connect comfortably from their site. However, the reward for this preparation is an unparalleled view and direct access to one of North Carolina's finest recreation lakes.

September 12 · fernando rodriguezClean campground with good sites mostly. Site 50-52 are good. Site 53 has a steep driveway and you’ll need like 60’ of power cord. But overall I’m happy with our site 52. Some sites need major leveling gear so come prepared. Some need nothing. We’ll return
July 08 · Quick TruckerOur favorite place to camp. Campsites with beach access, lots of nature to see (eagles, haeks, herons, wild turkeys, hummingbirds, etc.). Bathhouse well maintained. Great place to go for boat rides and fishing.
August 19 · Darline Jeneary KozichWow what an awesome experience. We had campsite 71 and it is in a really nice area. There is plenty of shade and it was about 50 feet to the water. Some of the other surrounding sites were right on the water, but ours was just ducky for us. The bathroom was really small but had been slightly updated with her countertops and toilets. The bathhouse was the same but is was cleaner than the bath house at JC Cooper. After visiting this campsite I doubt we will check out any others on Kerr Lake. We walked out to the point where there is more camping and these spots were also really nice. There are several beach spots that are mostly sand (not like ocean sand, but better than rocks at many lake beaches). They also have a small playground where the main beach is. Overall one of our best camping experiences and we will definitely be back.
