We understand the importance of finding the right spot for your outdoor escape, and Ken's Lake Campground consistently delivers on its promise of a memorable and enjoyable stay.
Ken's Lake Campground is strategically situated at Kens Lake Campground Rd, Moab, UT 84532, USA. Its prime location places it within easy reach of Moab, a vibrant hub known for its outdoor recreation opportunities. For those coming from various parts of Utah, accessing the campground is straightforward, typically involving scenic drives through the state's picturesque landscapes.
One of the most significant advantages of Ken's Lake Campground's location is its close proximity to two of Utah's crown jewels: Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park. This makes it an ideal "jumping off point" for exploring the stunning geological formations and expansive vistas these parks offer. Imagine waking up, enjoying a cup of coffee with a view, and then embarking on a short drive to experience the majestic Delicate Arch or the vast Canyonlands mesa. This convenience is a major draw for many campers looking to maximize their time in the region.
While the Moab area itself can be bustling, especially with off-road enthusiasts, Ken's Lake Campground often provides a peaceful retreat. As some visitors have noted, the reservable spots loop, in particular, can be remarkably quiet, offering a welcome respite from the more energetic atmosphere of town. It’s important to note that, as with any popular outdoor destination, road conditions can vary. Recently, there has been road crew activity working on the entrance road, indicating ongoing efforts to maintain and improve accessibility for all visitors. This commitment to upkeep ensures that your journey to and from the campground remains as smooth as possible, allowing you to focus on the enjoyment of your trip.
Reservable Campsites: Ken's Lake Campground offers reservable campsites, providing peace of mind and ensuring you have a spot waiting for you, especially during peak seasons. This is a valuable service for planning your trip effectively.
Generator Use Allowed: For those who rely on generators, Ken's Lake Campground permits their use until 8 PM. This allows for convenient power access during designated hours, catering to a variety of camping needs.
Easy Access to Ken's Lake: The campground provides easy accessibility to the nearby Ken's Lake, offering opportunities for fishing, paddling, or simply enjoying the tranquil waterside environment.
Peaceful Campground with Lovely Views: Many visitors highlight the serene atmosphere and the beautiful views available from the campground. It’s a place where you can truly unwind and appreciate the natural beauty of Utah.
Convenient to Arches and Canyonlands National Parks: Its prime location as a base for exploring these two iconic national parks is a significant advantage, saving travel time and maximizing your exploration opportunities.
Proximity to Faux Falls Hike: A definite highlight for many campers is the accessible Faux Falls hike. This scenic trail offers a rewarding experience and is a must-do for those staying at Ken's Lake Campground.
Spacious Campsites: While some sites might require creative parking depending on the size of your rig (as noted by a customer with a 20 ft trailer), many spots are described as wide, offering ample space for your setup and providing a comfortable camping experience.
It is worth noting for prospective campers that, as of recent reports, there were no water fill stations directly on the campground. Campers should plan accordingly for their water needs, perhaps by filling up before arrival or having alternative water sources. While there are restrooms, their cleanliness cannot always be guaranteed, as one customer mentioned using their own RV's bathroom. These are minor considerations for what remains a highly enjoyable and functional campground, providing the essential "no frills" experience that many seasoned campers appreciate. The focus here is on the natural beauty and convenient access, allowing you to truly immerse yourself in the outdoor environment without unnecessary distractions.

Ken's Lake Campground Reviews
Knocked off one star because the entrance road was in such terrible shape. There was a road crew working on that. This was a very peaceful campground with a lovely view. Convenient to Arches and Canyonlands. We visited both from this jumping off point. The Moab area is slightly 'rowdy' with all the off roaders or whatever they are called but the reservable spots loop was really quiet while we were there. Generators allowed until 8PM. We were in site 6 and it was a little weird.. we had to park our truck next to the trailer. 20 ft trailer, much bigger and we would not have fit. It was a wide spot though.Perfect for our needs but no frills at all. We only used the bathroom in our TT so no idea if it was clean or not.
May 28, 2025 · Cynthia CassidyWent there last weekend. Decent campground. The Ken's lake nearby is easily accessible. The faux falls hike is a must if you camp here.Only downside for me was there was no water fill stations on the campground but overall a very good campground.
Jun 09, 2025 · Saroj SapkotaStayed 5 days in the 1st come sites. Very pretty and quiet. Nice hiking all around. Great views. Weak signal but ok.
Jun 11, 2025 · Patty HartwellGood clean campground but the noise level from ATVs and vehicles disturbed the overall peace of the nature scene. The lake was beautiful and clean. I have never woken up to the sound of a cow mooing me awake but they free range around the campground. They are not aggressive and it's quite cute.
May 21, 2025 · Caroline AbeytaNice campground near the lake. Very quiet at night. Spots are very well spaced out. Each spot has a table and fire pit which is nice. They have vault toilets which I never used so I can’t tell you anything about those. But the campground itself is very clean and also has dumpsters throughout the park.
