Katahdin Shadows Campground, while not heavily advertising transient "promotions or special offers" in the traditional sense, does offer pricing structures and features that provide inherent value and can be seen as beneficial for guests planning their stay in Medway, Maine.
A notable offer is their tiered pricing for longer stays:
- Weekly Rates: The campground provides reduced rates for weekly bookings across all accommodation types. For instance, a "Tent Site" is $31.00 daily but $186.00 weekly, offering a clear saving. Similarly, "Cabins" have daily rates (e.g., $92.50 for a 10-person cabin) but significantly lower weekly rates (e.g., $601.25 for 7 nights), effectively giving a discount for extended stays.
- Monthly Rates: For very long-term stays, monthly rates are available, such as "$800" for a regular water & electric site, and "$875" for a full hookup site with sewer. Seasonal rates are also offered at "$1800 plus electricity." These options are particularly attractive for locals or those on extended working vacations who need a longer-term base.
- Kids Stay Free (Under 17): For cabins, rates are "based on 2 adults unless otherwise noted; family members 17 & under are FREE." This is a significant cost-saving for families traveling with children, making the cabins a more affordable option for larger groups. There is a "$5.00 fee per day for additional adults 18 years of age and older."
- Free Hot Showers & WiFi: Unlike many campgrounds that charge for these amenities, Katahdin Shadows includes "free WiFi" and "free hot showers," adding tangible value to the overall stay without hidden costs for essential services.
Regarding booking and cancellation, it's crucial to be aware of their detailed policy: A deposit (equal to one night for short stays, 3-day deposit for 6+ nights, 50% for monthly) is required. Refunds require "7 days or more in advance of your arrival" for a full refund (less a $3 service charge for credit cards). For long-term stays (28+ days), a "14 days or more in advance you will get 50% of your deposit refunded, 7-14 days in advance, 25% of the deposit refunded, less than 7 days- no refund." There is "no refund for early departure." This policy is important for planning purposes.

Katahdin Shadows Campground Reviews
We were placed on a cancellation list and received a call that a cabin was available, my family and I were very excited and replanned our whole weekend for this trip. My family travels from 2 hours both ways and at 4 in the AFTERNOON we received a call that our cabin was “mistakenly” double booked. The reason they provided made absolutely no sense to why they would only be calling us about this at 4 in the afternoon. They offered us Saturday night free but if it was booked why would the people only be staying in a 10 person cabin for one night? Needless to say they will not be getting our business again. We paid in full, very unprofessional and unorganized!
Sep 07, 2024 · Jazmine AyotteIf you like hiking this is not the campground. To get to decent trails is all off road logging roads. The park is nice, busy, and they are good people here with lots of schedules activities.
Jul 29, 2024 · Carmen MartucciCampground gets a 5/5! Showers cost my review some stars.I stayed over the weekend with some friends in a camper. The area was crowded and busy this weekend, but it was quiet, clean, and enjoyable. The kids had fun in the pool several times a day while camping and we were tucked into the trees so it stayed as cool and shady as possible on a hot weekend. My only complaint goes to the showers. EVERY TIME someone adjusted a shower, flushed a toilet, or used a sink (in either bathroom) the water temperature would change from SCALDING to FREEZING in seconds. I could not get a consistent temperature, even when I was the only one in the women's bathroom. The showers can't even get 1/5 stars. Absolutely awful water temperature regulation. However, the rest of the campground was fun and clean. I would return if I did NOT have to use those showers again or once everyone has gone to sleep.
Aug 09, 2022 · Kille BransonI have camped here many times. I have only stayed in the cabins, so I have no info on rv or tent sites. I have always had a positive experience here. The people at the desk have always been pleasant. The pool is clean. The bathroom is clean most of the time. The cabins that I have stayed in are well stocked with necessities. The outside of the sites were always clean. My only complaints are that the cabins are not cleaned well enough (although not dirty overall). I have always had to sweep the floor when I first arrive because there is always dirt and dog hair on the floor and downstairs beds (and I'm allergic to dogs). The beds are very old and uncomfortable as well. I would actually stay for longer periods if I didn't wake up with a very sore back every time. Great place to stay!
Jun 22, 2022 · SarahIt’s a cute little camp ground with reasonably priced cabins. We stayed in a 4 person cabin with electric, fan and AC unit. Outside the cabin had a porch with two chairs a water spigot and a fire ring. There was a pool, playground, gazebo, arcade, laundry room, shower and bathroom facilities, and a general store. The people were warm and friendly. Everyone was respectful of quiet hours. It was a nice camp with reasonable prices. We intend to come back again.
