You'll find it situated at 2601 Sunfair Rd, Joshua Tree, CA 92252, USA. This address places it approximately five miles off Highway 62, ensuring that you "get no noise at night," as one delighted camper noted, providing a truly peaceful atmosphere. While it offers a sense of seclusion, its proximity to Highway 62 means easy access to the town of Joshua Tree, with its unique shops, eateries, and art scene. Joshua Tree Lake RV & Campground prides itself on offering a comprehensive range of services and amenities, catering to various camping styles and ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable stay for all guests. The well-maintained grounds and friendly staff contribute significantly to the positive experience, as highlighted by multiple reviews. Here's a breakdown of what's typically offered:
- RV Sites with Hookups: The campground features RV sites with both partial (water and electric) and full hookups (water, electric, and sewer), providing ultimate convenience for RV travelers. These sites are designed to offer a sense of privacy, with some full hookup sites better separated by foliage.
- Tent Sites: For those who prefer a more traditional camping experience, dedicated tent sites are available. These are rustic, primitive/undeveloped sites without electricity or water hookups at the site itself, but with access to shared facilities.
- Well-Maintained Bathrooms and Showers: Clean and accessible flushing toilets and hot showers are available, a welcome luxury after a day of desert exploration. Walk-in showers are also available for non-campers for a fee.
- General Store On-site: A small, convenient general store is located on the premises, offering essentials and supplies. This was a particular highlight for one family, making their stay more comfortable.
- Dump Station and Water Fill-up: An RV dump station and potable water fill-up are available for both campers and day-use visitors.
- Duck Pond: A relaxing duck pond provides a serene spot for evening strolls and a delightful activity for children, who can enjoy feeding the ducks. One review mentioned seeing a rabbit hopping around too, adding to the wildlife charm.
- Lakeside Pavilion: A pavilion near the lake is available, likely for gatherings, events, or simply relaxing by the water.
- Fishing Lake: A small lake is on-site where catch-and-release fishing is permitted. A fishing license is not required as it's a private lake.
- Dog Park: A dedicated area for pets, indicating the campground's pet-friendly nature.
- Wireless Internet (Wi-Fi): Wi-Fi is available near the office, typically for a service fee through a separate provider.
- Picnic Areas: Designated picnic areas are available, some for day use.
- Fire Barrels: Fires are permitted only in provided fire barrels, with strict adherence to fire bans during high wind conditions.
- Planned Activities & Events: The campground hosts various events, such as an Easter Egg Hunt, which was a "hit with our daughter" for one family. They also host music festivals.

Joshua Tree Lake RV & Campground Reviews
We really enjoyed our stay here over Easter Weekend. The grounds were really well maintained and the front office staff were very friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. We loved the small general store they had on site and the duck pond was really relaxing. Our daughter loved feeding the ducks and running around - we even saw a rabbit hopping around! The campsite seem like they would be close together but they way it's set up, your spot feels very private and all other campers were very courteous during quiet hours. The staff even hosted an Easter Egg Hunt during our stay which was a hit with our daughter! We will absolutely be staying here again the next time we are in the area.
Apr 22, 2025 · Alexus SuarezA lovely place to call a home base while in the area. It's 5 miles off highway 62 so you get no noise at night. The partial hookup sights are a little closer to each other than I would like, but not on top of each other. The full hookup sites are better separated from their neighbors by foliage. I didn't really look at the tent sites. The lake is cute and makes for a nice evening stroll. The people who work there are friendly and helpful. When getting there from the direction of Barstow, do not follow the GPS directions. Go all the way to 62 and come through town. That way you can stay on pavement all the way and avoid some dicey unmaintained dirt roads. I plan on going back for one of the music festivals.
May 29, 2025 · daniel neelandDid an overnight only stop. The staff was very helpful and courteous.Had a pull through full hookups site. Dirt site which might matter if you stay longer. It’s accessible down a pretty long dirt road. Decent enough condition when I was there. Everything was quiet. Nice view of homes in the distance on the mountains at night. Decent price for the site. They also have dump station.I would stay here again for a longer winter stay. It’s a little bit of a drive into the nearest town Twenty Nine Palms, but terribly long. Its distance from town is what makes it very quiet.
Apr 07, 2025 · Jennifer MacDonald, CCSWe had travelled from Australia to visit Joshua Tree and were so grateful that we booked this RV park. We stayed over Easter and the wonderful campground host put on a huge Easter egg hunt for the kids which was so much fun. She also gave us some great tips on what to see and how to plan our visit to the National Park.
May 15, 2025 · Michelle BishopThis campground is great. Campsites are large and comfortable. There are interesting features such as a pond and unique artistic structures around to check out. It has it's own little music festival area. Our family wasn't here for that but the venue looked awesome. Best of all is this campground's proximity to the Joshua Tree town and park entrance. It is perfect especially for RVers as this is as close to the national park as you can camp with an RV.The only negative was that in contrast to the woman who works here, the man was borderline rude and had a very bad attitude. Overall though we've had zero problems with the staff or the campsite except this one incident. I still highly recommend this campsite.
